I have wondered whether, when bobbing a Deuce, it is feasible to convert the stock rear suspension to quarter-elliptic. Simply remove the rear-most axle and torque arms, cut the rear spring off behind the mount, and leave it as a slipper design for the remaining axle.
This would seem to...
On old cars, the trick to getting a stuck wheel - or a stuck drum on a tapered axle shaft - is to jack up the OTHER side and then push the rear of the vehicle sideways. The stuck item is the side on the ground and the sideways push pops it free. Never tried it on a 13,000 lb truck, though! :o
Bring a mouthpiece. There might be all sorts of procedural or other errors that a layman would not be aware of. Also I wonder if there is an ordinance about the municipality with respect to prosecutorial misconduct.
At a minimum you need incontrovertible evidence that this item had previously...
On #2, the good Commonwealth cannot stipulate equipment that was not provided by the manufacturer.
As evidence, if otherwise, there would not be any Model T's or A's registered there.
Nice. If you boxed around the winch, you could mount the s[are in the center, so you would not have to cut anoter troop seat. Or, maybe mount it on the other side and eliminate the troop seat on the passenger's side altogether.

I like your Deuce! Do you know where I can find one? I live in Virginia. I want one with a bed on it, so if you can help me out, let me know...
Here is how you can get it open with what you have on hand.
Heat the T fitting with a propane torch in the area where the threads of the stripped nut screws in. Since there is probably brake fluid in the line, open one of the other fittings at the T first so that you do not boil the fluid in a...
Peace.
To answer your first question, I was simply answering his question, which was whether that schematic would work. It will not! And only could with switches. That was the extent of my response. I agree with your second statement - I tend to say the same thing a bit differently - you...
Hi Stuart - I don't understand how upset you seem to be over this. You are reading a lot into the simple comment I posted that that schematic would not work and the only way that schematic could come close to working is with isolator switches.
I am well aware of the principles involved. I...
???
I comment that the schematic was not going to work unless it included isolator switches, and you rag on me because switches cost money.
So then I point out that if someone was dead set on just tapping off of one battery, you can average the 'wear and tear' over both batteries by swapping...
Hold on there, cowboy. :) When I mentioned the need for isolation switches, I made absolutely no mention of whether or not that would be 'on the cheap'. I was simply responding to the request for comments on the schematic that was posted. That diagram has short circuits and in any case...
The photos I am referring to are of the chassis painted green after it had been sandblasted. I see what I thought was gray primer in the nooks and crannies, especially underneath. For example, underneath the front shock bracket, and along the sides of the air tanks.
I thought that those...
A clarification of the above - the charging voltage is set 15% higher. If you work backwards from the 14.2-14.4 volts that a 12 volt system is regulated at, you arrive at the nominal voltage of a 12 volt battery.
A battery is different than a capacitor. A capacitor stores electric charge on...
I have two comments.
The first relates to the painting of the undercarriage. There are many places - underneath and edges - where the gray primer has not been covered by topcoat. This is not attention to detail, unless, of course, if that was corrected before the truck was delivered to the...
