RE: Alternators
Yes, the original alternators were interchangeable. It should be easy to check the ground to see if it is isolated with a volt meter in case you didn't get your truck straight from the military. You never know what some third party might have done before you got the truck.
As a country doctor that occasionally does medical cards, I would like to point out that they are getting harder to get. I flunk about 1 out of 5 for blood pressure alone. Also the feds are in the formulating phase of passing a certification program for medical examiners. This will probably...
RE: Re: m811 on gl
It is interesting that they don't show what is in the back. They have sold a couple with everything in the back for close to $20,000.
I was composing my post at the same time as dilvoy was and didn't see his. It could be a bad ground in the socket to. You might be able to test both with a multimeter by checking the resistance to ground in the socket.
Looking at the wiring diagram in the back of the -20 manual, the side marker lights do not have a direct ground. They seem to ground through the turn light circuit. That is why you read a lower voltage on one of the terminals, it is the voltage drop caused by the side marker light bulb. Do...
Allen, thanks for the help. It is an easier way to run the NSN than the way I did it, but there still isn't a picture of it.
I normally save the pages of the things I win but I had two hard drives to crash close together and I lost some of the data and scrambled most of the rest. I may be...
Since I first posted, I was able to trick GL's computer into running the NSN and found out it was made by LOCKHEED MARTIN CORP LOCKHEED MARTIN MISSION SYSTEMS. That makes me wonder if it is related to the F14 BS even though the F14 is made by Grumman.
Like Kenny said, if you don't play by...
I just got a registered letter from GL stating that an item I had bought has had its Demil status changed from B/Q to C and that I had 19 days to make arrangements to return it. I remember reading a thread somewhere where someone else had gotten one of these a few weeks ago. Anyone else gone...
Are you sure you haven't found the resister board or the tach buffer board for the diagnostic circuit? I seem to remember finding one of each in my M1010 a couple of years ago.
M109's are one of the things I like to watch and save. They don't ever seem to offer any close enough to me to bid on but I like to keep up with what they go for. Hopefully your bad luck is behind you and it will fire up and run without any surprises.
I just looked and it is still doing it. Luckily, I haven't bought anything lately. I did miss a few items that I was watching.
I am proud to see that someone else thinks this is MV related. I tried to post this on the MV mailing list and the list administrator blocked the post.
RE: no spark
It was in rural Alabama were I saw these. It was highway 278 not 72 somewhere between Piedmont and the GA state line. I am still going from memory, but I did look at a map this time.
New carbs were available several years ago real cheep. I bought several at the time and have ended up using one on every one of these I have fooled with to get it to run right. Coleman surplus had these. How many of these did you end up with?
Those AL wheels send up a red flag for axle swap. I have seen a lot of M1008's for sale with 1/2 ton axles instead of the 1 ton they are suppose to have. The original axles will bring more than $600. I would expect to pay more than $200 for a good engine. More like $1000.00. The one that is...
