I understand the whole EUC and SF-97 process, but my question is about time. I have seen posts about it taking 6 months to get both completed and others saying it only took 15-30 days. I've also seen people say that GL has gotten better recently, but I don't really know.
So, what is the...
I'd love to, but I estimated the return trip at about 11 hrs...ouch. Plus, I've got my second kid due in a few weeks so the wifey is not real excited about me traveling cross country in a 40 year-old truck.
I think she's being unreasonable :)
I'm looking into purchasing a truck in Mount Juliet, TN (37122, near Nashville) which needs to be hauled to Platte City, MO (64079, near Kansas City). Time frame would be the end of July. Send quote via PM if you're interested. Thanks!
Just get historical plates. No inspection and you just have to keep it under 1000 personal miles a year. If you need regular plates, I would think a standard inspection place would work.
I live in Missouri and have done historical plates on a '68 CJ-5 and a '68 M715. Never had a problem.
Well, it looks like the deal isn't going to go through anyway. I found a better deal that doesn't need so much work. Plus, I think this guy has beat this one around some.
Don't know, that's just what the guy told me. I didn't notice a delivery date on the data plates like my M715 has. Is the delivery date stamped anywhere or do you just have to look up the VIN?
I'm pretty sure it was a 5 speed b/c I remember looking at the shift pattern data plate. The little lever for the air shift was there, too, I believe (mounted horizontally, right?). It did have the big bucket lights b/c I noticed they were quite different from my M715.
RE: turn signal switch
I had seen those, too so I went and took a look. Several decent ones, one with a winch. He wants $5000-6000 depending on the truck. Little high, I think, but he might dicker.
So, the long and short of it is that there is no way to know exactly what features you've got based on the date? I guess I just need to check the data plates and look everything over a little closer.
Well, this one has a drop side bed, so it's been fiddled with at some point, I guess. How can I identify the air shift and overdrive components? I assume the multifuel/turbo options are on the dataplate?
I'm looking at buying a '62 Kaiser Deuce. My question is, what amenities (if any) will I be missing out on by buying an early 60's model? Do the later trucks (late 60's, early 70's) have any "modern" features that a '62 wouldn't? I'm thinking of things like air brakes, air shift, steering...
Re: RE: Re: M35 Bridge Sign Plates....????
I used this guy:

Decals and paint masks available. I got the M715 decal set that includes the yellow "4" door marking for bridge weight. Nice guy, easy to deal with and is an M715Zone.com member, maybe a...
The west coast mirrors were on the truck when I got it. I just swapped them out for stock mirrors last night. The truck will be used on the farm and in some timber and the big, non-folding mirrors were a bit fit for that.
I'll probably leave the taillights stock, again b/c it's just going to...
