Unhook your batts, and check the output of the Gen with a meter, (engine running) you should see 25 volts or so depending on where the regulator is set... Where you hooked to one battery to run the inverter? If so you might want to try charging the battery you had it connected to.

Broken odometer

Probably easier to replace... I've seen GL pics of CUCV's with "add xx,xxx" stickers miles to odometer reading on the dash...

Also, make sure your TV cable is working properly (controls pump pressure based on throttle position) if it's not right, the tranny wont last long....

Windows on a deuce

Wipers need air...are the tanks charged? The windows are anyones best guess, you need to pull the cover on the inside of the door and watch what moves (or doesn't) when you try to turn the handle. btw, do the handles turn?
