Lower half of the antenna, use zip ties to the flag and to the antenna. Will hold just fine at parade speeds and slightly faster.
(This is how we've done multiple parades with my HMMWV.)
Check voltage first, then check the glow plugs first. If they are fine and you are having these issues, I'd check the glow plug thermostat, then the control box.
The "Wait to start" light is an indication if the box things the glow plugs are working. Depending on the box, some just energize...
Yes, and shaft means a bearing inside the case.
If it DOESN'T make the noise it MIGHT not be the bearing, but MIGHT still be. Reassembling the pulley and retrying it should let you know. If it starts squealing again and the pulley is not lose on the shaft.. It's almost certainly the...
If you take off the nut (7), washer (6) and pull off the pulley (don't lose the key, that half circle thing). If you can replicate the same squeal, then it's the generator bearing is likely failing.
If the squeal goes away, it's POSSIBLE that the pulley is vibrating or moving slightly on the...
The generator pulley, is it the PULLEY that is making the noise, or the shaft into the generator? If it's the later you may have the start of a bearing failure on your generator. (I don't know enough enough these things to say either way, but noise means heat.. both mean failure in bearings.)
I was looking the other day for the same plate (didn't end up buying one), but I did see them for sale on a few of the site sponsor websites. (Eastern Surplus and one other that escapes me right now.)
I didn't end up buying them, but it showed me that a few were still available.
Ya pretty typical they just have the engineers write the documentation. So CLEARLY you must have the same knowledge as the people who spec'd or built it.. so you just need a pinout and a basic wiring diagram to remind you how to use it. :|
I see this all the time, and country of origin...
I assume the big issue with any other engine is that it affects the transmission mounting. Changing the transmission affects the transfer case. Together all of this could affect the overall gearing of the vehicle.
But with that said, I believe non-US versions of the HMMWV may have different...
Interesting. With what I'd been reading I know that the newer blinker boxes work better with LEDs, maybe there isn't enough current draw for an older style box (assuming that is what yours has.)
Bottom two are your blackout tail lights.
The aluminum and plastic housing are roughly the same, but the aluminum ones stick out slightly (or at least the ones I've seen do!
My 1988 has plastic rear tail lights, but the fronts are aluminum. I also have a spare set of aluminum I bought for the...
Ya, I tried that. Plastic feels "smooth", and it pulled some of the scratches out, but the haze never went away. Maybe the plastic itself is damaged in some way.
Ya, my friend can do upholstery, we just need to know what the appropriate vinyl type and thickness is. I found in one of her...
One of the two "regular" soft doors I have, the window is so fogged up (scratches I assume), that it's difficult to see out of. I've tried cleaning it, but it didn't help.
I was wondering if anyone knows what type of plastic (thickness and other behaviors) used in the soft-doors. I have a...
Upper RIGHT is 6A from the battery (thickest wire), 81A (the next thicker) and 81B. This is battery hot (+).
Upper LEFT is 74A and 74B. (there are only two wires here). The wire on the SIDE of the starter (where 74 goes) is on the starter/solenoid itself and not part of the vehicle harness...
Check the grounds first. They have a habit of corroding on all of the lights. Then check the other bullet connectors as well, both the headlight side, and the engine side of the hood. Definitely add some dialectic grease as well.
