Power steering fluid (basically hydraulic oil) is different from ATF. Not same foaming and additives. As far as i know GM always used power steering fluid, not ATF. You can feel difference rubbing both between fingers. One is silky, smooth, ATF is "grainy" (if my english is correct).

Thicker cables are must, and those originals are very old anyways. I dont complain 12V starter on my 1009, 1008 is same if not even slightly quicker...

hehe, i dont have problem. I just wanted show, thah there is an option. It is still option, liked you it or not. My 1009 has button, works fine for me, 1008 card is probably fried but i have not touched this part jet.
