RE: Re: RE: Govt liquidation & hillary?
Regardless of who is to blame, this is a serious matter that should be delt with at a congressional level. We elect people(Human beings like us) to represent us(Human Beings) in congress. The stuff we buy is not going to change the world by any stretch of...
On one side or the other, you can't get to the middle(level) plug. Why not just drain both annually and refill to correct no. of pints? Then you have cleared your winch of moisture and any filings. If you seriously use your winch at work as I do, You will find some wear occurring and you can...
And please pass the word that you know the grade 8 1/4" bolt had plenty to do with screwing up your winch. Several fellows here on the SS site have the correct winch shear pins available. Including me. John Tennis
I bid nowadays without inspecting them. But I bid low enough so I can justify a serious repair bill if they are not what I hoped for. I also have my own lowboy and that helps a lot. John T
Ron, you brought up a good point, I better do some measurements on my RTO9513 in my International dump and be sure the front driveshaft will clear it. I never thought of it before your post. The 13 is only 4" longer than a 10.But now I am wondering about driveshaft clearance. Maybe a twin...
No sweat, Dave, keep posting, I'm reading all of them. This wrecker thing is a lot more than just pulling levers, I've been an excavating contractor since 1974 and I have learned a lot from older guys over the years, now I'm older and I know a lot, but I sure can learn a lot more and still not...
They run the same bell housing as the Spicer 3052 or 3053 A or B. You will keep the reducer ring on your bell housing for a DT engine. If you go big engine, you will remove the reducer ring. John T
I'm doing a RTOO-9513 in my 813 this winter, I need more gears and more road speed as it will be on road more than off road. I am putting a 13.5' dump box on it off my old IH . I will have to move the transfer case back. They say thre was a RTOO-10, but I have never seen one. Maybe out West. John T
I have an M543A2 that has a throttle lever at the drag winch operator's station. It connects to a cable that goes to the engine throttle lever, Isn't this original equipment? My manual says to set the throttle at 1000 rpm and use 4 th or 5th gear in transmission to run the wrecker. I have an air...
He Ugly Ranger, do you know any of the Jersey Boys? They run the Angel, Untouchable and Malfunction. One of their guys, Web Madison was on the Guntrucks in Vietnam. I built Aces & Eights, the Dead Man's Hand this past winter and run with the Jersey Boys. John T
If you don't have the ability to obtain a hydraulic steering system from a civialian truck, modify it and install it in place of you manual steering on the deuce, then the only power steering option is air-o-matic air assist steering. You can't beat the ease of installation and zero maintainence...
My deuce wing plow truck has some seepage out the front of the front head, I'm planning on pulling it to replace the gasket with a new one. On the last one we did we only used one head gasket out of the set so I have one left over. I didn't notice any operating problem on the plow truck, it just...
Hello to the California Soldiers, any one close to Lodi to look at a shop Set on deuce ? It's on Ebay right now? I have one hear on the East coast and they are a heck of a display piece at the shows. Just wondering, John T :?:
Hi CS, The DT 466 or the DT360 are good choices, They were proven in International construction equipment from the 60s into the 70s before being used in trucks. They were categorized as mid-range, pick-up and delivery diesels for a few years and then changed to Linehaul category engines in the...
Doghead, where was it sold from? You know how I am on the air-o-matics. I have an other one ordered from Arthur Bloom, he has a chance to get 50 more sets by spring. the price is as good as it's going to get. Merry Christmas, JT out
I have a deuce multifuel with wing plow set up and hydraulic power steering and flipped hubs with 6 excellent civilian mud and snow tires and a set of chains for all three axles, oh yeah, with heater and a block heater too. It's for sale, It plows reall good. JT out
I built Aces & Eights last year to replicate an early guntruck from Vietnam. 1967 was the year, the trucks were mostly deuces, the armor was what they could find, single wall, sand bags on the cowl and running boards and cab floor. sand bags in the bed, soon to be replaced by ammo cans full of...
