    chains on a deuce

How come they seem to come in dual triples, according to all the military surplus chains I've ever seen? I single them cause I don't like fighting with the weight of dual triples, but they certainly do work better if every tire is chained. If you start spinning with singles, you just dug a hole...

Running Waste Engine oil in the winter

Once again, The military says to use 1 gallon WMO ( waste motor oil ) per full tank of fuel in M35A2 trucks. More to suite your needs. In the North East we will never get them started in the winter. I expect to use 4 gallons per tank in the summer and none in the winter. Heck, I have to cut #2...

    Deuce Fuel (used oil)

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Deuce Fuel (used oil) Hello M-1028, That's quite a crawler you have there. My son does that stuff. He's in Low-Range magazine this month as 2nd place stock class with his #8 gold Samurai. He was heading for Texas this September but We-Rock went broke and gave him stock...

    m52a2

Very very nice deuce. I Think you can get a 5th wheel from Jim Henry or John Winslow, both are usually in MV magazine. I am in upstate NY with around 35 deuces and 5 tons. If you make that M52A2 look like your deuce, wow, you the man

Oil Burner Conversion for M1941 Heater

oil burner conversion for 1941 heater stove Hi LC, when I first opened mine up I had instructions and it said I could use gasoline, kerosene or diesel fuel. I was afraid of the gas and had plenty of diesel, so I burned diesel. It smokes a LOT LOT on diesel, I tried kerosene and it smoked less...

    M35A1 vs M35A2 ?????

And the M35A1 was seriously turbo'd. The 427 uses a large turbo for power, not to clean the air. Mine is still going strong, drawing 8 to 9 tons of slate and gravel regularly. 2500 rpm max, check the oil and antifreeze, adjust the valves once a year. Runs like heck, smokes like h&%l !!!!!

replacement steering wheel for an m817

If you find steering wheel NSN #2530 01 089 9129 it is the smaller 800 series steering wheel. It works well as long as you have power steering. It is good on a deuce with air-o-matic steering. I have shortened steering columns, it's a lot of work, helps with belly room but lowers the wheel a...

    Bobbed Deuces

Comdiver, You're the first person who's mentioned XM381, I'm impressed. They did an XM381E-1 also in about 1964, it articulated side to side. I discovered these trucks a few months after I built the first JATonka. believe it or not. They have certainly caught on.

    4x4ing the deuce?

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: 4x4ing the duece? The Sasquatch Santa truck doesn't use front springs in the rear. They are M105 trailer springs with helper springs. I'm sure cause I built it.

    4x4ing the deuce?

RE: Re: RE: 4x4ing the duece? The front springs mounted under the rear are great for added flex if you rock crawl and they allow you the option of installing a rear steering axle. The M105 trailer springs are great if you are looking for a more stable ride on road. Yes you will need spacer...

M35A2 Cab Heater unit(s) best for N.E.Texas weather

The hot water cab heater is easier to install than a fuel fired unit, cheaper to buy, easier to find for sale and a heck of a lot more dependable to work at all. We installed a brand new fuel fired heater in our M51A2 dump truck and it worked great for about one month. Trouble shooting the fuel...

    HHO as Cummins fuel?

Very similar products. You would add a good fuel additive such as Power Service or Howe's to the Home Heating oil to make it diesel fuel. There may be a tax consideration, however. JT out
