I have done many trailers.. You just need a weight certificate and the make and serial number."use the data plate" If its over a certain weight they charge you more and you have to get a title for it. I have never needed a SF-97 for a trailer and have plates on over 30 military trailers.

I was going to suggest the M35A2 spare carrier also. I have seen them mounted under the M101 and M105 trailers and its a slick setup. Its a bit of overkill for a M101CDN but they bolt on and it would not take much to modify it.

Yes capt. Two different head gaskets If I can make out to the shop I will take pictures. Does yours have a hump on the front of the head? It is off to the passenger side.

Very good point Ernie... I am not trying to argue in anyway but I have seen both military and civilian heads and motors both ways? I think its more of a year they were produced than a military civilian application. It could have the wrong head, or head gasket installed but I bet your onto...

It is a XM152 its not a XM152CDN.. The US did have its own produced in small numbers for uses like russscal mentions. This truck was a Pattywagon version used by the airforce. This truck belongs to a friend of mine. He restored it with his daughter and its a very nice truck.

You could have a blown head gasket? Can you take some pictures? Has it been real cold before this started? Is your antifreeze up to spec? What weep hole?
