We use the Facet 6-12 and 24vdc pumps at the Museum, the only thing that kills 'em is water......and hooking 24vdc supply to a 6 volt pump!

It's been a while, but, IIRC, 1st-2nd has a spring for the reason stated above as does "R". Nothing in the middle. I'll check the next time i'm at the Museum....maybe tomorrow.

I would go to SECO and get their set with the new style head gaskets. It is a complete engine gasket set, but it is worth it to have everything you need. I think they are around $280 ish. MAake sure you get the new style, modern style, 1 piece gaskets. No need to re torque, permaseal around...
