    Conversations, how to find mine?

If it makes you feel better, I am still learning/finding things out. After however long we have been using this format, I just, 5 mins ago, figured out how to delete PM, err, conversations! I have 30 pages worth!

Head gaskets ain't too bad, a day and a bit to do.

Uh oh! Confirm my fears or lift my spirits

Another thing, the copper vent pipe coming out of the radiator neck can crack at the solder joint and blow stuff everywhere. If coolant or oil for that matter, gets blown across the engine it will seep under the heads/gaskets/between the deck and gaskets, and make it look like a leak due to the...

Uh oh! Confirm my fears or lift my spirits

To me, It looks like the hose from the WP to the intake manifold is leaking....see the white streaks on the hose and the wet at the upper part of the hose? That indicates a leakat the wet and the streaks indicate the coolant is drying as it runs down the hose. Yes, old style head gaskets...

    GPA anchors

How does someone ID an anchor for the GPA? I have read that the two rectangle holes in the flukes are correct, but have also read that those don't matter because some were issued sans the holes. Who/what is correct? Guess I could call Brent Mullins. Lets see what happens here first though, don't...

Cheaper fuel pump for MEP-003 found!

We use the Facet 6-12 and 24vdc pumps at the Museum, the only thing that kills 'em is water......and hooking 24vdc supply to a 6 volt pump!

Shift lever "neutral return" spring tension in only one direction

It's been a while, but, IIRC, 1st-2nd has a spring for the reason stated above as does "R". Nothing in the middle. I'll check the next time i'm at the Museum....maybe tomorrow.

Head gasket repair walk through - go to post #31!

I would go to SECO and get their set with the new style head gaskets. It is a complete engine gasket set, but it is worth it to have everything you need. I think they are around $280 ish. MAake sure you get the new style, modern style, 1 piece gaskets. No need to re torque, permaseal around...

    M8 Greyhound brake help

Pretty fancy set up! How I fixed the soft first pedal, normal 2nd pedal was to bleed the system from the wheel cylinders backwards to the MC. I learned this on, believe it or not, 1980s motorcycles with dual front discs. It took a bit and 2 people to do it to make sure the brake fluid didn't...

    M8 Greyhound brake help

Your issue now is no pedal on the first push and a good pedal after that, or the brakes stay applied after releasing the pedal?

Advice on repair radiator or replace with new m931a2

No RTV, It will push the cork out. Just clean it, apply the gasket then TORQUE it up. Over tightening will cause it to leak. The tanks and heddars need to be straight. Honestly, I would take it to a shop for the reason mentioned above. The heddars can be re soldered and any issue fixed. Would...

    Artisan's M916

A second cap could mean a second water intrusion point. If it were me, I would pull the tank...you'll probably want to pull it to cut/weld the 2nd neck on it any how and they come out fast when empty....and take it here. Stanton Radiator 10645 Beach Blvd, Stanton, CA 90680 Phone: (714)...

NO, Simp is trying to tell you that if you do not have the knowledge on how the system works, it is not safe to you or others around you to try and educate yourself and then experiment with things that can kill you or others. It is a good thing to learn how things work, we all start out that...

Tachometer question on my M35A3 ?

Pull the sensor from the flywheel housing, clean the end with a rag, no need to use a liquid cleaner. Make sure the potting material is not loose and the magnet is in the end of the sensor. Re install until it GENTLY touhes the ring gear, back it off 1/2 turn and LIGHTLY lock the nut down, IIRC...
