I have a selectable locker in my daily driver..... that would be my preference too, but I doubt they will ever be made for lmtv. There just aren't enough in the public sector imho.

I am curious if you only used one Detroit on a 6x6 rear axle how it would behave. It seams like when not in mode, it would behave like an unlocked truck unless you had really good traction and you were getting on the throttle. Otherwise, one of your intermediate axle tires would probably...
Google Montana rv plates. There are companies that set all of this up for you. They handle most of the leg work (and charge you for it).
It pays off best if you are paying sales tax. And if you are doing multiple vehicles.
It is not cheap, but if you are keeping your vehicle long...
I must have missed this before. I really like your drop hitch solution. Are those two standard 2" hitch receivers welded onto a custom cross bar bolted into your frame? Any pics from underneath?

Start an LLC in Montana and register it there through the mail. Then get lifetime plates. No inspections, sales tax, or annual registration fees besides the LLC annual fees.

That seams like a good idea. I am surprised (and kind of not surprised) that the programs are not already available to them from their own databases.

I found some on the internet. I did not buy any yet, so I am not sure of the quality. I think they were high on a google search. I don't have the link anymore, but they were around $100 per tire.

Do you mind taking a picture of it with the cab down? I would really appreciate it.
I would like to see what it looks like.
Thanks!

My current plan is to either find a 1085 that I can afford, take the bed off, then shorten the frame, or buy a 1088, bolt on a frame extension to move the pintle back further and then add my camper subframe.
No welding on the truck frame.
