I had been following the other thread profo (I think that's his user ID) was posting about them. I was eager to purchase a set. But it'd have to be around $1500 mark for me to consider them. (Double/triple the cost of 2.5T hubs) I in no way discredit the amount of effort and work put into...
It is resolved. The "sleep" in the title was being interpreted as a sql command to sleep. I've corrected the security software on that.
Depends on the frequency in which you hit the new posts/threads/today's post links. Those are generated off time, cookie, and previously viewed content...
Yes Kenny, I was in the unimog firetruck to try to help rescue your unimog. Obviously I was unaccustomed to the superior steering that a unimog has resulting in the flip over.
I assume that you simply mistakenly deployed the mosquito repellent system on yours?
Boot was only $19 with grease, would have been cheaper online if I waited. There's a cool trick with a funnel for boots without having to tear them down I use.

Had the CV been clicking or leaking since the time I had it, I'd have replaced the halfs...
I finally got off my butt this weekend and started whipping the 1008 back into service.
1. New battery (Charging the other)
2. New headlights

4. Starter bracket (yeah been meaning to do that for years)
I still need to do the starter relay conversion. It needs cab corners and...
Not saying they "have" to be be swapped. Just confirming that they are in fact different. There's no way to make a ring without a swap. The turbo is external and could easily be swapped. (Some were wastegated, so I'd advise swapping for it) The IP droop screw can be adjusted for more umph...
Depends on the style port. I know some ports have terminals with lugs on them that are simply bolted on. Others have a pig tail section of harness on them.
I was looking at swapping to a OD setup for my M1038. I know a 4L80e would "bolt in" more. But it raises electronics issues and then the TPS and Tach issues. I know the 700r4 is considered weak by a lot of people, but I've had good service out of them (after upgrades). Was just kinda...
Stuff I know for a fact....
Starter clocked to other other side
Turbos are different
Pistons are different (I've held both sets in my hands before, number of rings are different)
IP is different
Base timing is different.
I *believe* you're correct though that the cam profiles are different.
