Anyone know what the recommended oil level should be with the spin on anti-drain back oil filters?
I never checked after doing the mod and I was checking my level today and the dip stick read low. Then it dawned on me that there is some oil still in the two filters.
My air compressor seems to be leaking oil inside the engine compartment. I cannot tell where exactly it is coming from since it is putting a mist all over. Does anyone have an idea on where to check and replace gaskets?
Does the compressor have its own oil source or does it feed from the...
Okay, my bobbed truck never overheats (according to the gauge), but it leaks coolant out through the overflow tube. Its not a lot, but I can find small spots under the truck. I can also see some spray on the bottom of the motor. I gave traced this to the overflow tube. I have cleaned the...
So I had a bad leak in the rear main seal and had it replaced. Now about 135 miles later, it looks like it is starting to leak again. The guy that changed it out is a diesel mechanic, and I am sure he knows what he is doing. My question is, should I just live with it unless it gets really bad...
Does anyone know if the old style parking brake can be swapped out for a new style lever without any cutting/drilling? I have a new lever and cable and I would like to switch them out because I want to put in a spring seat. I see the old lever gets in the way when I tried switch the box for a...
A friend has a plastic "sign" looking thing that has what looks like 3 flat green bowling pins that are ~3 foot in length. They are attached at the bottom and can fan out. I saw these somewhere on here but now I cannot find them. I thought they were some kind of signaling device. Sorry no...
There used to be some instructions on the old site on how to install a standard coolant heater on a no heat truck. Now the PICs are all blocked?? Anyone have a link to this or some good instructions like hose size and length? Search did not come up with much.
Thanks.
Okay, I did several searches and I could not come up eith anything. Has anyone put a rearview mirror on their deuce? Have any PICs. I know there are military rearviews, but have not seen one in a deuce.
Does anyone have a bobbed deuce with 1100x20 Michelins on it? If so can someone post a PIC (front, rear, side). How do they ride? I am thinking of ordering a set and a visual would be very helpful. I don't want to go any larger for legal issues.
Thank you in advance.
I measured 32 inches on the front bumper of my stock deuce (9.00x20). IL and many other state's vehicle codes read:
"It is unlawful to operate upon any highway of this State any vehicle with a front bumper height that exceeds 28 inches or a rear bumper height that exceeds 30 inches, regardless...
Anyone with a bobbed deuce know what their truck weighs? And is the weight limit simply cut in half (minus one axle)?
Preferably, one with 1400x20 wo/w.
Thanks.
Somewhere there was a page that broke down ones VIN number into type, year, etc., can someone please point me in the right dorection. My searching is not finding it.
Thanks in advance.
Okay I have read that 11.00x20 tires is as large as one should go on stock rims, either singled or standard double. I have also read and found PICs of 14.5x20, 14.00x20 and, 395/85/20 on stock rims. So now I am confused?
Could we maybe get an accurate chart somewhere as to what tires will...
Anyone know where I can find some good tires for my deuce? I would really like to find some 11.00x20 michelins, but at this point NDCC 11.00 x 20 will work. Maybe even 9.00x20 at a good price.
I live in Central IL.
Thanks in advance.
So the duece is really cold, and does not want to turn over. Is there a way I can use my 12 volt jumper pack to jump the deuce (24volt)? I don't want to damage anything.
