Guess i should have worded that differently.....what i mean is why is it that some of them look like they have one piece for that duty and some like yours are individual shims. Or is it just me, i have yet to pull my pump so i can't say i have played with one much. Looks like its all just a...
Scooter01922, hauling in from far northeastern MA in the deuce, bet yer ass i'll be there for the weekend :-), Would love to convoy if i can hook up with some guys heading out there and back, i can bring yet more firewood if its needed.
Wow guys, glad everyone is ok after that one. Think i'll give someone else a call if i get the deuce stuck  Just kiddin, sure you will get it right next time. You guys are within an hour of at least a few guys on here, the member map looks sparse up in our neck of the woods but believe me...
nice looking trucks you have there. We need more guys in the northeast with deuces :-) And IMO we need a northeast SS rally so we can all meet up sometime.
You can FMJ, just pop over to the aluminum overcast website. Think its like 400 bucks for a 30 min ride but you do get to fly in it. I'm sure it makes a stop somewhere relatively close to you at some point, tour dates are on the website.
P.S. One of my fav planes as well.
As usual i entirely forgot that this would be visiting the airport i fly at. Dang, i really wanted to check out the interior. Pretty easy to identify as its the only flying one i know of that visits this area. The only reason i know it was here this weekend is that its flight path for the tour...
guess i would have to say a bit of both, LOL. Thats his username here, hes in PA and always selling a few trucks. Tends to travel all over picking up auction wins. So there is a chance that he would be heading out this way at some point. Really knows these trucks and will tell you exactly what...
I have yet to experience GL but i vote private sale. I have no clue where Millbury is but if you are ever up my way we can take mine for a spin to hold you over till you can find one :-)
Woo Hoo, talked to sonya today myself. Wonder if shes gonna join up here one of these days with all us members calling her?? Anyway, i'm in the same boat as you SW, as my regular car ins has a 100K liability thats the max they can do for the deuce, but for 176$ for the year i'm not gonna...
Yeah good idea on the engine swap. I don't think a multi would stay in one piece at the power levels your looking for. If you do try it tho be sure to get pics when it goes BOOM on ya
The 140/330 are what i have seen as true as well. Think those guys may be upping the numbers a bit to sell trucks. Everyone has to have the truck with the most HP  As far as what you can safely do.....Install a pyro and start turning up the fuel a bit. As long as you don't overdo it it...
Geez, now i gotta try this just to see if i can roast a goose before it hits the ground. Not to mention the flames would look neat at night i'm sure. Hmmmm, off to the designing board
I have safety for my car and bike, they are super down at the local office. But it was gonna cost a ton to insure it with them as a regular truck. I would go the antique way but i have some occasional work that would really go faster having a deuce. Hauling some firewood once or twice a year...
I was guessing the smoke generated might be white, the whole unburnt diesel thing. Wonder what would happen if you did that and added an igniter at the tip of the stack, that might get interesting if you got the fuel/ air ratio just right.
Want smoke????? Want to avoid detonating your engine???? How about you just put a fitting in the pipe just after the turbo and inject a spray of raw diesel , that ought to get you about the same results. Not sure if the EGT would be high enough to cause it to ignite or not, might not be enough...
Hmmm, i dunno how well a dual turbo setup would work. But the dual stacks are doable, sasquachsanta has em, they look darned sweet to me. I know he did a writeup too. Happy searching :D
Working on this issue myself, part of it stemming from the fact that in MA a deuce would have to be reg commercial due to its weight. After much wrangling over the last 2 months i'm now trying for a maine registration. Got a call in to state farm, gonna get back to me on cost. maybe i ought call...
