Increasing the air intake in a deuce

Your limitations go way beyond the air filter. The factory manifold and valve sizes are just two problems. If your just looking for a little more get-up and go, replace the turbo. The factory turbo doesn't put out much. It's really just for emissions. Then you can increase the fuel.

    m35 master cylinder compensation port

Which small hole are you talking about ? Is this one on the bottom of the reservoir ? If so "NO" you cannot plug it. That is your bleed/return hole for the fluid. If your fluid has gunk in it, then you need to totally clean out your brake system. More then likely you have 'O' rings/seals that...

    Rebuilding the Injection pump

Exactly. When "adjusting" the FDC you will need to keep this pressure . Not when the injection pump is on the vehicle.

    M35a2 Deuce NO START

I didn't read your initial story, but I read it tonight. So this truck has set for 12 + years correct ? and when you checked the compression it didn't blow your finger away but just moved it ? On a diesel engine like this with compression ratios of 22:1 your finger should have been blown right...

    Another FDC bypass question

Sa Same here. I worked as a heavy truck mechanic for over 40 years and never saw a probe fail and fall into the turbo.

    Rebuilding the Injection pump

OK, since there still seems to be problems with people "visualizing" this FDC movement. I'll post a picture trying to show you what is happening. When different fuels are used the "Servo Piston" will move into different areas on the "moveable plate" . I've marked these areas to show you what I...

Can't get the engine to idle

Cattlerepairman, where can you find these Chinese Hydraulic Heads for sell ? I've been gone for a while and haven't heard of them.

    Battery Box Slides

Yeah, I always thought that was a stupid place to put batteries ! "Hey guys lets put some extremely caustic acid filled batteries in the cab with the troops ! "

    New injector pump. Wont start

Since the original pump was acting the same way the new pump is, I'm pretty sure timing has nothing to do with it. Unless of course the original pump had been removed and replaced.

    Rebuilding the Injection pump

The FDC plate will constantly move according to what pressure is exerted against the piston. There is no "regulator" in the FDC which would hold pressure at a constant. During "testing" of the FDC you would use a "constant" pressure and the FDC would be expected to hold the appropriate pressure...

    M35A2 Heater Options

For really cold climes, I would go with a good diesel fired heater. The military unit is good, but the Wabasto unit is better. They are on the fleet of buses I used to work on. Very dependable units.

    Thoughts on Boyce built trucks.

Boyce does good work. Very high priced, but good work. They used to have a shop up here just south of Seattle.

    New injector pump. Wont start

OK then. It must be the drive system. Pull the pump out and check those gears and drive. Something must have come loose or is broken.

    New injector pump. Wont start

Just another note. This new injection pump was rebuilt correct ?

    New injector pump. Wont start

That was why I asked about the drive gears. Did you by chance loose the slotted piece the pump locked into ? If those pieces come loose and or fall out you would have the pump spinning only when a piece of the drive system came around and struck the pump drive. Considering both of these pumps...

    New injector pump. Wont start

It would, but like any engine it would not be firing correctly on all cylinders.
