Classic Jones! I can't wait to see Bjorn's latest project. Hey Bjorn, if you read this, don't forget to stop in WV on your way home and pick up the Goat
RE: Some more pix from Winslow
Let me know the next time you make the trip down south. I'm in Franklin and could scoot over to 95 for some grub and a BS session with a fellow SS member. I've always wanted to go to John's, especially since he is so close to me. Now I really need to go since...
Cool truck. If the 454 ever craps out it would make a good truck for a cummins 5.9 swap. I had a buddy in Memphis who put one in his K30 welding truck. It is a little snug, but very doable. The torque and the MPG are very handy too :D
Hmmm, in all my web surfing since '95 when I got my M1009, I don't think I came across any desert camo trucks or blazers. My M1009 was a Desert Storm truck. It was tan CARC with the inverted V invasion symbols on the doors in black. You might be able to copy some camo patterns from another...
RE: genset
That was one wicked drag race session. Almost as fun as getting lost in the woods at 2am with riding some guys 4-wheeler who I had just met 2 hours before. Thankfully Jerry had GPS ;)
Rematch next year fellars. I'll fire up the Mog for that!! It'll be like racing a Farmall Super...
RE: teaching
Hey Bjorn,
Glad you made it safe! Please keep your eyes peeled for any more 756 parts when you are browsing Barstow. Dad is still looking for all of the rigging equipment. Thanks!
Hey Andy!! Great to see you back online. You were my first link back when SS started as Chris' CUCV Homepage on MSN. Blast from the past brother!! The web sure has changed since we had our simple free sites back in the day eh?
I've got some promised to folks who replied before the rally, then the leftovers are up for grabs. If there is enough interest, I will order some more of them from the t-shirt folks and put them in the upcoming SS Web Store.
Guys, I am really sorry that I haven't gotten the t's out yet. It has been a non-stop slug-fest for me since I got back from the rally. Between work, our "new" house, my wife's car blowing up, etc... it's been nuts. I'll try and start getting them out next week. :(
That could be interesting. We better get some big dang straps for those kind of loads. Maybe have 2 stretched between the shackles on either side of the pintle.
Hi Daniel,
Welcome to Steel Soldiers. Please feel free to respond to any criticism of your products or services. The net can be an unfair place sometimes and we want to give everyone their fair shake. Thanks for joining!
Chris
I'll be contacting members that were not at the rally. I'll start with the first requests and work my way down through the posts. I'll PM you the cost of the shirts. You can either PayPal it to me using the donation button or mail me a check. So, I'll be in touch. Thanks.
Chris
RE: Re: RE: Haspin video
No worries Kenny. It is still a great Mog. Anytime you are dealing with a 1970 carb, hub etc... that was used by ham-fisted Germans and then surplused, there can always be issues. She will be rollin again real soon!
I gotta say though, after spending the weekend...
RE: Re: RE: Haspin video
Thanks for the tip on the truck shop Ryan. I love my Mog! It wasn't the Mog's fault that the wrong bearing got shipped to me. That was the only thing that held us up. Otherwise we would have been there whoopin up on some deuces ;) You need to haul the Ferret up...
RE: Haspin video
You really know how to hurt a guy don't ya Kenny?
I should have the correct hub bearing in my hands today and will hopefully have it back on the road this weekend. I need to find someone to rivet the new linings on my brake shoes. A guy at the local brake shop said, "Rivet...
