    tandem axle tralier

Not the trailer that you are talking about, but two of these just sold at auction near me for less than $300 each (bid price). I didn't bid on either one since I need another trailer like a hole in the head, but I thought that it would make a nice flatbed or stakeside if one wanted to do a...

    M817 at home

Just getting back to this thread... Dump bed doesn't want to raise up right now. I think it's because I can't get the control lever to move down into the "raise" positon. I can get it to go into "down", but not into "hold" or "raise". I'm planning on pulling the dump control box apart...

Where can i find one of these

The converter dolly in the photo was fabricated by the gentleman who is unhitching the flatbed from his Mog... Several folks on this site have fabricated dolly's, some using M105 trailer chasis (like this one), some using heavier generator trailer chasis... They show up now and again at GL...

Replacing your multifuel engine with something else?

As a friend said to me a while back, you know that they are good engines when folks have derogatory pet names for them, PowerJoke and Cummapart... Anybody know the pet name for the GM engines (6.x or the Isuzu??) Worse thang is to have a Cummapart in a Freightshaker... I've got Cummins power...

    XM708

Thanks for the photos... The bedsides also are different so somebody who knows could tell that the bed is not a M37, but you are right about that tire clearance beeing a big giveaway... :) Great seeing it with the canvas on the bed as well as getting a view of the flaps. Not much to see...

Replacing your multifuel engine with something else?

Have you considered chaning out the stock sealed bulbs for Hella E-Code H4 assemblies? It's amazing how much better they are (better reflector, nicer lens, and a variety of wattages available). I run 70/75watt heavy duty burners in mine and toss light about four times as far down the road in...

New jacket for the Ole M37

RE: taillights? Ahh.... Looks good. The mud flaps help me visualize what my XM708 will look like since the little dump is supposed to have them and mine are missing... I like seeing a truck that isn't just another USArmy rig... :)

    Rebuilt Engine still in 'barrel'

I have a military rebuilt engine in the can in the back yard.... I'll have to post a few photos of what the engine looked like when the can was opened. Does the phrase "boat anchor" strike a bell?? Fozen solid, and in such shape that I just picked things like the clutch, oil pump, water...

    500 Miles in a Deuce

Boy that rig (and the load) look great... I'm envious... :)

    Bob the Dumpin' Deuce lives

It'll fit in just as well as my M37 did at a M715Zone gathering last year... :) Power Wagon/MV, they will all be welcome at the spring gathering (wherever I end up having it..). Looks like a great asset, especially when it comes time for the firewood delivery... :)

    S.S. Ga Ralley?

Joe, the show that I've been plugging is in September in Hickory, NC. Location is about forty miles East of AMGeneral's place, but it's still west of Statesville. I've also committed myself to hosting the 2008 Southern Power Wagon rally (and I'll be inviting all my MV buddies to join us and...

    4-Wheeler tires on a mule

    Use a tube regardless.

    some mules at Little Rock

Not really IMHO. A Mule can be hauled around on a little utility trailer from Lowes/Northern, etc behind the familly car/truck/SUV. Anyone can drive them. They are easy to work on, don't take a lot of storage space, etc. If you insist on insuring them, they go on your homeowner's policy...

    Mermite can question

The inserts also fit into a slick holder that will sit either on a table by itself or will nest inside the deep rectangular pan that is part of the field range setup. That way, food can be served out of the insert and/or reheated. There is also a shorter version of the insert that is half as...

    Mermite can question

A better size for towing behind a small vehicle (and perhaps better fitted to the size of the fryer at the resturant) might be to put a tank (or a 55 gallon drum or two) onto the flatbed trailer that is the same basic chasis as the M416. I forget the number for the little flatbed, but I do...

    5 Ton Power Steering Question

Re: RE: 5 Ton Power Steering Question Bjorn, my reading of the Transmission TM that you attached is that it calls for Transmission Fluid C2, or 10w engine oil (MIL-L-2104 is the older military specification for engine oils sorta like the API, Cummins, Mack, SAE specifications. I can pull up...

    New M816

I'll second Bruce's comments. I too think that you've made the prudent decision having it hauled home. I've towed and driven several trucks home from local auctions and have been fairly nervous about each trip even when I have a stout tow/chase vehicle and it's only been fifty miles or...

Fall Show in NC (September 8, 2007)

Re: RE: Fall Show in NC (September 8, 2007) It's a great show in a wonderful location (lots of grass, peaceful, fresh air, wonderful mountain views). It is MUCH smaller than Aberdeen... Last year, our first, we had a dozen vehicles show up for display. Had a bunch of guys from the MV...

    Wire tag numbers

RE: numbers The wires are not in the same position in differnet housing of the same type. A given manufacturer might have them in the same orientation for a given production run, but the rubber grommet can be rotated, the guts on a light can be replaced (I used to have some kits to do so and...

    HiLift'in

RE: HiLift The guys are correct in saying that a Hi-Lift is unstable, but it also is a very usefull adition to the toolbox on your truck (or wherever you cary it...). I use one frequently to push, pull, and shift things around the yard and on the trail (equipement, parts, vehicles) as well as...
