That bolt pattern is quite common. I have a 12 volt laying under my shed that came of a V-8 Detroit in A Chevy C-65 that looks just like that.

RE: starter start Bjorn, my starter repairman told me he could build me a starter out of a heavy truck starter. Many large diesels have the same head and bolt pattern.
