I plan on ordering one of these:

And this hose...
Not yet. I've been putting off placing an order. I really need to replace all the hoses in the crane on the SEMTT, but I need to get out there with one other person and a tape measure to figure out exactly what all I need. Surplus center already sells hoses with NPT ends, that was what I...
I went for a drive but noted that it was defueling at about 1950rpm. I mean fall on your face defueling. Even rolling down the hill it was defueling. Came back home and noticed a retainer/shim on the ground I must have dropped! While on the road and driving, I saw almost the same EGTs...

After my jog this AM, I decided to change the buttons. I figured out why this thing has no problem free reving to 2400+ rpm. There's gotta be nearly a 1/4" of shims stacked in it. But the more interesting thing is, I don't have a 27 button like most. I have a 30 in it stock! So it's now a...
Went to see Wreckerman today and picked up two more locked axles. (I have 3 total now) That's going to be a job to swap in. I did drive the SEMTT around yesterday a bit. Everything seems to be doing well. EGTs are 900F under WOT in 5th no load. Tomorrow I'm going to drive it around a bit...
Know what you mean! I'm going to measure from pinion flange to flange as well as across to see. Maybe if I could find a cardboard box with that measurement, it'd be a quick test to see...
I know the springs and lower dogbone/perches should keep it in place. But I was kinda thinking about leaving it on the ground (If the 3rd's can come through the frame). The top dogbone mount will be the problem as I see it when it's undone. I suspect it'll move a bit. But I think a...
No, just working on the rears. Mainly wanted to see if someone has done it in truck. I've been through a 2.5T front and rear a few times. Just wondered if there's enough room to pull it.
So I've got some locked axles here that are going to end up in the SEMTT. Looking at things, I think this can be done without swapping the axles. (And I know I'd rather keep the current ones since they have the ABS parts) The SEMTT started as a M931. I'm thinking I can take off the front...
Hey, another idea and less complex would be the trick we've already been doing with the pump sprayer tanks and DOT5. Do the same thing only with oil. Again under $20. Probably faster too. Less mess at least. But you'd probably need to lube with syn 5w15 to get it to flow easily enough.
Actually, if you happen to find a pump with an output port of 7/16, you could tap that to 1/4 NPT without even having to drill it. Would be quicker than welding too and less prone to leaks. Or find something with a port that could be drilled to 7/16.
