You say its an A1 truck. The first drawing is a wtec2 harness found in the A0 trucks. You have a WTEC3 in an A1 truck. The second page is also info on an A0. Now the early A1s are similar to the A0 in many aspects, the documentation you are showing may or may not apply.

On the A1 24V battery power is fed to the WTEC III controller by CB43
On the A0 12V battery power is fed to the VIM and WTEC II TCU via CB35.
On both models CB79 provides the 24V switched ignition power.

Yea I would identify the N solenoide wire pair in the transmission harness connector and confirm the short is in the transmisdion before I commitred to pulling the control module.
All the solenoids are in the control module bolted up into the bottom of the transmisdion where the filters are located...
