    MEP-803A —— Did I Score? I think so……

So still waiting on a few parts to arrive. Fuel return hose arrived today. Bought 12 feet. (will be using some on my CUCV injectors). Fuse Mod/MOV. I ordered the wrong one, not really sure how, and now the correct parts are headed this way as I type. (Thanks Kurt!!) Ordered all new stainless...

    Best Battery Opinions

Second on the Hawkers. You've spent this much time and money on the truck, don't skimp now. I know buying Odyssey batteries isn’t skimping, but Hawkers are the Military’s choice and I have had Zero issues with them. On year 6 on this current set. Bought brand new. Worth every penny.

    MEP-804A Not Cranking

It was probably the E-stop switch and he's too embarrassed to come back and admit it. Me (E-stop switch club member)

    Another Trailer ID Thread

The fenders have no lip to them, just a sharp edge. Steel looks thin also. Without better pictures, it's difficult to tell.

    Another Trailer ID Thread

First impressions say no. No data plates or even the holes for them. No tie-down/lifting shackles. No side reflectors 5 lug wheels (Studs look too small for a M101) It’s OD green and has a pintle hitch. That’s the only relationship to a real military trailer that I can see.

At least they used Wix filters. The oil filter is also a Wix and looks new. Besides the dirt/dust The Air Filter is also new and is a Wix brand. The paperwork has zero marks. The factory put those with the unit, closed the lid and that's where they've been for the last 22 years. Except the...

    MEP-803A —— Did I Score? I think so……

I found some surprising documentation from when this unit was brand new. A laminated Lube Order Manual Info about warranty and how that process works. Depreservation Guide that shows the exact date when this unit was ready to ship. Still sealed from the factory. Shocked that this paperwork...

Took off panel top cover and sure enough, remnants of the start of a nest. Nothing chewed and no piles of droppings. Lots of dirt Surprisingly, no corrosion under the nest Cleaned up area with rags, removed old nest and used an air hose to blow all the dust/dirt out. Sprayed everything with...

Well it definitely showed my lack of knowledge on the generator. This is the first generator I've had with an E-Stop button. That issue will not happen again.

I have the bolts soaking with penetrating oil now. Will be removing that cover to check later today or tomorrow morning. Already miserable outside. I thought you just couldn’t run it if Mods not installed, but I don’t need to crank it anymore for now anyway. Sprayed the Detoxit behind the...

The tag was found on the other side on the bottom panel. I will be looking today to see if the exempt tag is somewhere down there also. Thanks

It was the red button. Test lights still don't work, but it primes with fuel and I bumped the starter and it was working. Panel night lights work Pushing the test light button, there's still nothing. No fuel leaks yet and no water in the water separator. Happy about that. Time to read up...

You know that gut sick feeling you get when someone points out the most simple and obvious explanation? I honestly did not even think about that I will go check that.

This morning I removed the old ground cable and looked over everything again. Attached slave cable, making sure the positive battery lugs were safe. Pushed the test lights,......nothing. Circuit breaker (7-1/2) is pushed in and glass fuse is good....Nothing Fault interrupter reset does nothing...

So it’s home Lots of spiders and fuse mod has not been done. Nothing looks chewed and no sign of anything except spiders. I do see evidence of wet stacking. Engine turns over by hand Oil and filter look new No holes, rust or busted parts. Onan tag fell off engine. No clue which side as the...

Around here, Mud Daubers and Red wasps (absolutely Satan) are the issue. The Yellow Jacket paper wasps are a lesser problem, even though I was stung by one a few days ago. I tend to find them when I knock down a tree and wham, hundreds of them swarming the cab of the tractor. Generator will...

Good call and will be doing that. As long as the bones are good I will spend the money to make it reliable with good parts. We don’t have a mice or snake problem around here. Thanks to my wife’s encouragement, we have literally 18-20 barn cats that hang around. A few others that come and go...
