CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Update on the floor replacement in the Blazer...found more rust...imagine that...the support in front on the back seat had a good hole in it plus the upper support as well...they all rotted together so I may have found a common spot with 5 layers of steel there that tend to hold water and...

    Th400 going bad?

That sounds great! 1750 for a built 700 isn't horrible...with the higher grade hard parts that get put in them it bumps the price up a bit plus these are figured out...you tell them what you're gonna do with it and they can match it up...that lower first gear will be real nice plus the...

    MEP-803a possible battery short

I have 3 300 gallon tanks I use for heating...they are also hard plumbed into the genset...I think it really depends on location...how cold and hot the oil will get etc while in storage mode...I'm in central pa...use the genset for 12 hours every month...I haven't put any additives in the oil...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Wonderful News! I have what looks like a clocked version of a battery end for the starter main power...it's not just an end of a round cable...I have no parts other than that in installing the starter...not even the 2 bolts that hold it to the engine...I have the old harness that they took out...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

That's perfect!! I'll get one of these on the way...very reasonable price too...I really want a stock relay...I have a blazer that has the big relay in it now that is stuck on that to start, I have to touch the relay bolt with the starter wire to start now...want to put it back to stock as...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Last month I towed home a 1008...it didn't have batteries or a key...I replaced the batteries with brand new 6t's and replaced the interlock...it wouldn't turn over...I do all kinds of usual testing then head underneath only to find there is no starter!! I was extremely lucky that the battery...

New M1009 in Spain (my hulk)

MEP 803a back in business: Exhaust questions

Well...having a second story to go through won't work...you'd want to keep the exhaust hot so it flows up without cooling and getting tons of condensation inside...going out the side should work with the pellet stove spacer in the wall and the pipe run through it...that's a great suggestion from...

    MEP-803a possible battery short

Ok so you put new batteries in it when you got it and they lasted about 8 months then died...you think there's a slow drain on the batteries to kill them when it sits not being used? Just for my clarification...a short is when a wire is positive and touches ground or vice versa...that would blow...

MEP 803a back in business: Exhaust questions

I think I see a wood burning water heater in there now? I'd do the same exhaust set up it has...the double walled pipe going through the roof with a hood....how are you getting fresh air in this shed?

    MEP-803a possible battery short

These are a 24 volt setup so the batteries will look reversed to get 24 volts...as far as the ground, you have to hook up the battery cable to get a ground...your meter won't do that unless it's in the 10 amp positive port in the meter and put on the battery and the cable...usually that is done...

M1031 Maintenance Contact Truck just acquired

That is a nice one!! I never had one with the maintenance box...are you keeping the compressor and genset in there or is that what you were asking about? Keep it or remove it...the last pic has a box next to the oil fill...looks like it's hooked to the throttle...since I've never had a...

    Messy oil change

I have a couple of containers lunch meat comes in that I use to put under filters or finish off draining oil in motorcycles...they aren't big but catch the little bit that comes out of the filter...I have the barb on the outside as well for the drain hooked up to a small chunk of hose to drain...

Blowing Drivers Alternator every couple of days?

What kind of batteries are they? The 6t? or a car style replacement? Are they charged up completely? It does sound like a wire is not right as well like shorting out.

    Frame ends cut or not?

Ok that's kinda where I was leaning since it looked way to straight for a torch cut plus the one steel piece is riveted on the frame! So the next question is do you have any of these brackets I am missing? I could use a tailgate and mounts too...I'd much appreciate it!!! Hope you're not...

    New to the M1009

I think I'd start with getting it running...replacing the ignition interlock switch is cheap and easy...I did mine yesterday for 18$ and about 20 minutes.. plus it'll have new keys too...if it has batteries check them for the acid and charge them up...see if it turns over ok and the engine isn't...

    Frame ends cut or not?

I picked up this truck Monday from Chambersburg Pa...met some cool dude from Utah picking one up too...drove out with a Uhaul trailer and off he went...I hope he made it!! My question is, the truck had a plow on it so I cut it off, torched, to put the bumper and spare front grill guard on...the...

    Th400 going bad?

Do they have an output shaft to fit the stock tcase? I've done one for a np203...I was thinking of doing a 4L80E for my 1 ton truck but haven't looked into it yet. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Th400 going bad?

So this started right after the motor swap?...any chance you bent the gear selector bar going to the trans? I'd check the rooster to make sure it's in the actual gear in the trans coordinated with the shifter on the column...unhook it from the trans and set it up while in nuetral...gotta make...

An overlooked 'spare' for your parts shelf

I just looked at mine to see if it was leaking or seaping etc...I had a hard time even getting to the filter side connection! I assume pulling the filter off would give better access to it...question also, do you think this would work on the oil line that feeds the oil pressure sensor as well...
