:ditto:When I reassembled my cylinder and piston, I made sure to lube it with some light oil. It helped with assembly, especially the cup seals, and ease of operation. I replaced all the rubber declutch hoses with new from Memphis. For added measure, I Teflon taped all pipe thread joints (not...
Welcome, Starreb!, Welcome to the madness. M51=nice choice. Multi-fuel or gasser? I recently got a new 383 green vinyl top NIB from IPS (aka Clark Trucks).
Try this link...Integrated Parts Systems - Cover, Cab Vinyl O D Green 2.5 & 5 Ton
Hope this helps.
Here's a recent pic of M818 to give you some ideas. The bed was sectioned out to ten feet bulkhead to tailgate, added deuce rear mudguards and M817/51 dump truck fuel tank protectors. Everything on the M52 is the same as the M818 from the cab on back except the battery box (my box is not a...
That definitely sucks. I just bought the kit back last October. Looks like someone got the bright idea that one could be charged more for the whole assembly rather than the rebuild kit. The McMaster-Carr idea is a good alternative. They are my go to place for odd-ball parts.
Call Memphis Equipment and ask for the 5-Ton declutch cylinder rebuild kit. It's a fairly easy rebuild, but he rubber seals are bit tricky. The higher lip/edge sides go toward the outside edges of the cylinder and must lay completely flat.
And, a couple more threads to assist you...
Sure, my 5-Ton has an Airbag. I just can never get her to ride in it.;-)
This is like asking if an M1 Abrams comes with drink holders and center console:roll:
BTW...Why do you need Mom's approval anyway? No disrespect, just curious
This is the best part of owning these trucks. You do evoke memories in a lot in a lot of folks out there. If I only bring back one good memory in one old vet, then my mission is complete.
The one I remember most...Memorial Day weekend last year on Saturday, my boy and I are headed home from...
When I spoke with one of my city's Commercial Enforcement LEO prior to purchasing my truck, he spoke of a gentleman that had his Deuce impounded, at this LEO's doing, for driving out of class. It is not a cheap proposition...impound fees, court fines, fees and penalty assessments, attorney fees...
:ditto: This is EXACTLY why I went through the pains and penalties of obtaining a CDL. (I'm) not going down in flames because of an over zealous civil attorney and the insurance company that just walked away from me because I was not right in the eyes of the law after Joe Dumb@$$ illegally...
Straight stack it. The flapper works much better that way. I bought 4' of of 4" OD aluminized exhaust tubing from Jegs and had it flared at a local muffler shop. Sits nice and high above the cab roof...
:ditto:I have a pair of M817 Dump fuel tank protectors on my M818 replacing the quarter fenders, which looked out of place. It's a good idea to get some sheet metal between those tanks and singin' waffles. Don't want any punctures from road hazards.
