    Show us your Military Trailers

Welcome to Steel Soldiers. Looks like a good score. More pictures are always welcome. Any specific plans for it or just general use? The Trailer TMs are available for free in the TM section. Recommend checking the bearings, brakes, etc ASAP. Appearances can be deceiving. Plenty of...

    what Happened to my M1101

Now you know why guys check the bearings, etc when they first get them. Bad bearings, loose nuts, missing parts and no grease.

    Airless Sprayer- Graco vs...

You’re probably already bought something by now but here’s my opinion. I have the Graco 360 VSP Used it to paint a S-280 shelter over 2 years ago. Sherman-Williams Exterior Latex. Practice on something first as you get used to the settings and handling. Technique is everything. Once you...

A lot of the items available commercially are also used by the Military. Just painted a different color(s). The M1101 itself has brake parts, etc that are available over the counter at any trailer store.

How to rehabilitate trailer connector cable?

Electrical tape will get gummy/hard over time in the sun. Use wire loom for the cable itself and just tuck the connector under the assembly as shown earlier. Both will keep sun off. The heat is a different story. It is what it is. Buy a new one while their still available. When current...

    Hauling or towing new-to-me trailer

I picked both of mine up with a dual axle car trailer. Worry free about the trip back. That location might have a forklift and you might not even have to lower the gate. Call the site manager and ask. You definitely have the appropriate trailer for recovery.

    1008 question

Will not work on the rear of a M1008. It's designed for the HMMWV. It might work on the front bumper with a backing place. Would have to see one installed first.

How to rehabilitate trailer connector cable?

You can always tuck your connector under the surge brake assembly. Keeps sun and water off it. This is how I store mine now.

    Saving a couple OH-58's

Recommend Replacing the tires and tubes with new ones. Ground Handling Wheels are often abused and maintenance deprived. Dry rot tires, no grease and usually low on air. If one pops, the one right beside usually goes shortly after. I’ve seen one side blow the tires and cause the Helo to do...

    Front pintle hook on M1008

Do you have any additional pictures of the mount? Drawings/measurements? While I plan on only moving trailers around, I might go the route you took. Never know when it’s strength might be needed. I’ve read in old post several guys installed this hitch. Needed some modification if...
