I have these tapered steel bars that I'm making the axle perch with. Cut is made where it's 1" and at 6" long, it is 1 1/4". That calculates to about 2.8 degree. The block will have to be milled for bolt.
Hows that for a well fed cat.
I like the shorter turn radius of the tractor or dump truck because they are shorter frames. Around town for getting groceries, the maneuverability of the shorter wheel base really matters. My 817 was a great truck but my wife could drive the M929A2 (not that she wants to).
Do it on the truck. Take out the seals and clean the grease out of the bearing. Put one back together and then spin the hub while tightening the bearing. As your tightening keep the hub rotating so you can feel it drag when you start to get tight...then back off 1/4 turn. It should turn very...
Thanks Eagle4g63... when you have a chance I would appreciate some pics that show a few more details of the mechanism if you find them. Did it operate like a parallelogram and did you have any adjustment to change the angle in relation to the road surface? Is that plow one that folds back on...
I have a crane truck with 50' of stick so a crane as short as these military Grove cranes seems like a step backward. They are very heavy as well.
I'm already doing so much change that a real crane, swivel and telescoping is more than I want to deal with. I have a supply of 2"x24" hydraulic...
Thanks PP but I can't see many overnight outings in a truck that tops out at 50 mph. My use will be local, I expect.
It could just be enough space for a crew cab with comfy 4" foam bench seat that one could sleep when necessary.
I was thinking a frame and winch (I have a grove crane winch...
More information. I measured the angle of the spring mounting face at 5.36 degree upward facing. So to make it parallel with no load, I would need a spacer-saddle that tapers that amount. But under full deflection, that angle is less, so a taper that large would make it less than parallel...
Since we are supposed to do our research before posting, here is another almost unanswered thread that could have been more informative. Search brings it up.
Thread: M105 bed on a non-bobbed deuce???
That is exactly what I am doing. The OP must have given up, so a title that brought me to...
I have the same question, so am bringing this up in hopes of having a more complete answer and discussion now that more people have bobbed them.
I too am using the M105 spring and it looks like there is maybe 8 degree. I could be wrong and it only be 4 degree as mentioned above, mine is not...
You men have some very nice equipment. 45-50 looks like a good deal. What ballpark are the above chassis-cab?
I was surprised to see a Dodge that was 65 and it made me wonder about F650's. For doing some CC delivery of campers and things in my old age....which is here already.
I thought the quarts you got were the Marquee since sample size is not available, except in Ultra.
It's (Marquee) priced higher and people claim it's better....so it must be better...right?. I'm not spraying all at once with a nice machine either. To me, the Ultra seems more brush ready...
