The only problem with putting a gauge on is that it's open center and the pressure doesn't rise until there is a load that it can't move...stalled out...putting max torque on already failed bolts. I'm all for knowing the relief pressure but don't know how to make it go there without stalling...
No it won't. That mechanical joint won't put enough heat into the end of the rod shaft to matter. If the cylinder rods are bent, that is another story.
With about 2 cutting torches you may get enough heat in that crossbar to bend it back using wedges and plates tacked into place so it stays while you heat and pound in a taper. That is a lot to heat, but it looks like it MIGHT work if you can get it near read hot working one end at a time at first.
They probably had a spline adapter that needed more length and put the extra flange in as a spacer, but they clearly failed to use long enough bolts. If they only pulled about 3/8 of an inch out, there is probably enough thread depth left to get at least 1/2" of thread engagement at the bottom...
It's a hydraulic motor, not pump.
It's not obvious where it's failed in the photo's. Is the flange shown on the last picture pulled away from the winch case? If so, it's hanging on, on the inner shaft and will probably be better to remove the motor and flange adapter. Is there only about...
Thanks Rusty...yours is really heavy duty...nice job. You seem to have more sticking out to attach to than I do. That must be the difference of the A2 and A3. I'd like to go that far in but would have a lot to disconnect. I'm thinking about butt welding an 8x3x1/4 formed section and plating...
I believe it is radials that make the camber issue worse. Bigger radials make it bigger worse. Don't be put off with that camber project, it's not that difficult. Yes, sure, use the 11.00 as a spare.
To keep the front area open for a winch or snow plow to be mounted, I'm going to extend the frame 18" straight out and remount the bumper. I'll get a 1/4" diamond plate for the whole area to fit at the top height of the frame, reinforce the outer bumper and attach to the fender support. Plate...
I like the 11.00 G177 on the rear and A3 rims with 365 on the front. They are almost exactly the same revolutions per mile and have flotation and wider track in the front than the reversed budds. Myself, I'm going 395's all the way around...but I like the stability of the duals too, it just...
Thanks for putting the video together, Aussie Bloke. Congratulations. That tool truck looks handy and some other nicely done MV's.
Would you mind taking a few pictures of your front bumper and winch setup? I'm about to alter mine and am looking for some ideas. Yours seems to be higher than...
Buffalobwana, I sure would like to have one of those....or the HVLP system. Nice tool.
Marquee sample size is not available. She's right, the color will be the same as the ultra....but you have moved beyond that now that you have quarts. Notice the black has a shot of blue. That is why...
On the A3 I had that sold to the onion farm, the fan was so close to the radiator that it had hit it at some point, damaging the radiator (probably took a new fan blade).
This A3 fan is very close, but has not hit the radiator (yet). I would like to free up some space and the headlight/turn...
Actually Bob USNR, "our money" is not "ours" nor is it money....it's bookeeping entries mostly + some currency (cash money). Money is made by issuing debt....lots of it. The total of personal and public debt and financial obligations is staggering. Quantifying the amount of debt money used to...
I know how that goes... you get a project about done, functioning smoothly and sell it for them to put the completing TLC into. That kinda stopped for me when 5 tons dried up and I didn't do the Stewart and Stevenson or HMMWV.
I have a A3 deuce build that is expanding to almost nothing...
Nice build on the truck...I love it especially the duckbill. Do you have a tan or brown bed cover too. One just slightly higher or the same as the cab top would look sweet.
You have a lot of leverage to twist with 1600's. Have you considered a torsion rod or two?
Enjoy!
Thanks for the measurements Scar59 (and Gimpyrobb). The extra length of 11" is a lot and 13.5"... even more. I had read 8" but that is clearly wrong. 8" seemed to be okay but the longer length is going to require some more thought and mock-up....11" seems excessive.
I wonder if the hood...
Plan is to put a stainless steel rod in the front to be able to pull against. i don't have that yet to head off to the tarp sewing shop yet, but I have the canvas and BN. The amount of wrap will be long enough to come back around on it'self about 6", making the front edge around the duckbill...
