The only mod required is due to the fronts using two different sized bolts (top and bottom mounts).
You'll likely have to mod the shock's inserts (see the video I linked above) or change the bolts/hardware (ie: sleeve the existing smaller of the two mounting points on the truck).
Only other...
Yep, the springs were just added to accommodate the extra weight of the armor (which you don't have). Same reason that they deleted the cab air ride system.
There's really no reason to run coil overs
Installed new cab bushings onto the passenger side. Pretty straight forward.
But looking over the driver side, it appears that it will be a nightmare. The assembly is tucked in behind the steering gearbox on one side and the radiator on the other. There is no access from above, fore, or aft...
UPDATE:
I reinspected all belts and while the AC belt appeared tight, I was able to tighten it a bit more to my liking. Since AC was a more recent mod done to the truck, it seemed like a good place to start.
Squeal eliminated !
Strikes me as odd that it was materializing just as the temp...
All I know is that I own out-of-state LLCs that own my off-road vehicles.
I can only speak to things that have and are working for me.
The cake is pretty ****in' tasty, btw.
:)
It doesn't happen all the time and it only happens just as the temp hits 200 (but several seconds before the fan actually engages). It stops after a couple seconds.
I know the clutch and fan were replaced in this truck back around 2017 and under 4000 miles ago (likely *well* under).
My...
There is always hope. As long as a single state still allows registration, state's reciprocity mandates that those vehicles are legal to drive in ALL 50 states. One of several good reasons to have a vehicle owned by an LLC (sometimes in a more "friendly" state /wink /wink) and leased to you as...
Started tearing down the generator for cleaning and re-fit today.
Found the two exhaust leaks that had created most of the soot (just exhaust gasket and a missing bolt).
Took dimensions so I can fab up a head pressure relief rod (the lever and handle are both there, just missing the rod)...
Shaft removal is SOP for a flat tow via tow bar.
I was watching that truck just for run and it was *super* clean.
Just work your way thru the TM troubleshooting guide and I be you find the issue asap...
I've been pondering ways to lock the cap (although I likely won't need to once I get the ambo box or other type of side skirting that will limit access).
I have seen a few locking caps with the proper thread and diameter, but they would require tacking a small lip inside the opening.
Anyone...
My cars are company-owned by my LLC in Louisiana.
I'm still not clear on LA's handling of registering FMVs, but I'd just as soon register it there than let Texas see another dime of taxes.
Texas really screwed over true car builders in the past several years (unless you limit your skill set...
There is a LMTV "tips" site that has the printable file (so you can have a decal made if so desired).
I'll have to dig around (I recall his site logo was a gorilla)...
This was in fact the premise behind the bill.
The TxDMV had change the "rule" and banned dune buggies back in 2014 (and had started revoking title and plates in 2018 ). The biggest issue was that with no definition, anything the DMV (or any particular clerk) *deemed* to be a "dune buggy" was...
