    CUCV oil leak

When you notice the leak, under what part of the truck is it? Is it motor, transmission or gear oil? Power steering or brake fluid? Have you crawled underneath and looked? The front crankshaft seal is a known leaker. If your harmonic balancer is original it needs replaced and you can change...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Hit the Thanks button by mistake Its not a state thing but a Federal DOT thing. Federal law always trumps state law. The arm signals are only to be used temporarily. <30 days to allow repair. After that the signals in the vehicle must be working. What you have now is too small and not...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

If you plan on actually driving that on public roads, you are guaranteed a ticket and possible tow. They are too small and not placed correctly. That is definitely......green.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Funny about writing on the windshield. We do that in helos, just not with sharpies. Grease pencils only. That gps in pic will usually be on the speed screen. I already gave my brother and uncle one each of the larger, better units. They were happy. Found a bonus in the box of Garmins. A...

At least you found the leak now, instead of when generator was actually needed.

S-250 shelter recovery - how best to haul

It’s easier and cheaper in the long run to strip it and do all the electrical exactly like you want. Lights, outlets, etc. I used a commercial a/c in my S-280 and works great. But I wasn’t doing a all military original build either. No clue about your a/c. Who knows what it was used for...

Accepting ideas for accessorizing this dump trailer.

Need a better overview pic. Hard to tell how it looks overall. Small sections look promising. .....and yes, you do need brakes and now you will also be drawing attention from DOT officers.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Installed a New Garmin NUVI gps. Small and compact. Don’t really need it but why not. However, it will help since the cucv speedometer isn’t known for accuracy. Won an auction lot of 20 Garmin GPS”s Different models of the Nuvi line. A few years old but all brand new in box. Free Lifetime...

    1028 no start

Might be just a bad fuel solenoid within the IP. Guys have replaced those themselves and solved their particular problem. Don’t use ether even though it’s tempting. Way more harm than good.

Best guesses at a restored m1009's value in 2018 and beyond

It’s not 100% original so it’s not worth as much. Period. Factory look or not, you will always be able to tell something had been there. Radio, speakers, wiring etc. The glow plug system works great as designed when properly maintained. Still don't understand why people remove components...

Best guesses at a restored m1009's value in 2018 and beyond

If he would have put same effort and cash into restoring to original condition, it would have brought a lot more money. Guys like that thinking that just because they spent a lot of money on it, it makes the truck worth more. Wrong!! Very rarely does it work that way. I wouldn’t even give...

    Tire/wheel options for M105a2

Will not matter. DOT goes off data plate info and weight numbers. Not what’s been modified Yes a lot of $$ but still cheaper than an attorney and lawsuit Get what you can. Something is better than nothing. Workout a trade or ??

    Tire/wheel options for M105a2

You will save money getting a M101A2. MUCH better for your Jeep as mentioned. Surge brakes and smaller wheels, better towing angle, not as wide......just to name few Even if you find smaller wheels, you still have to be able stop the trailer. That means new axle and electric brakes. Not...

    Tire/wheel options for M105a2

That is a very big and heavy trailer for that Jeep. Install a transmission cooler and hope for the best. Edit Sell the M105A2 and find a M101A2. Much better suited trailer for your Jeep. Both in size and weight. They can also be made into really cool campers. Lots of examples to look at. Do...

Best guesses at a restored m1009's value in 2018 and beyond

Supply and demand. It’s that simple. It’s worth whatever someone’s willing to pay. Prices on GP are rising. Just go and look at the sold history and you can see the figures. Not as many are coming up for auction either. Someday.....sooner than later.....they will be gone. Their not making...
