If you have a sawmill or pallet mill around in Wisconsin, there could be some nice wood blocking available, 4x8 and such, if your confident in building a structure that has no possibility of failure.
Heavy jack stands are expensive....go on-line or Napa, Oreilly or maybe McMaster Carr. Is...
You should have proper jack stands and or very stable blocking. Ten ton will lift each axle. You might loosen the lug nuts before you lift it up, the're easier when the wheel will not rotate.
Yes, all of it needs to come apart and while you are in there would be a great time to rebuild the...
Sounds like your brakes didn't release? I would not replace the axle, I would expect to replace the drums and all the braking components, probably including the pistons, maybe the backer plates too. This might be a time for putting on dual circuit brakes, but fixing the drum/piston area is...
What is the distance that the frame is extended down when using m105 springs and mounts when bobbing or making 4x4. You can see a bolt at about 4" from the bottom on the 5" trailer frame.
I dont want want the mount bolt in line with the frame flange, so could go 5" or 3". I want to sit...
The 939 series with singles are "flipped". The space between them gets small, but I think will articulate...except tire into the bed frame. Sure...use combat. The 395's work for me.
I had to put loads down into the hole (8') with soil leaving a 14" rut around it. I backed onto my piles and the articulation was incredible. There was no way it would have went where it did as a 4x4. For a work truck, my $02 is leave it 6x6....for a play truck, I like the 4x4.
An air...
I had an 817 and currently have an M929A2. Having recently hauled 15 loads into a muddy lot, I doubt if a 4x4 would have made it in or out. Maybe with 16.00...but I doubt it. I hated the 14.00 GY AT2 and went with 395's...and glad I did. I'm working on my M35A3 6x6 to 4x4...also with no...
I was referring to making an additional prop at the front to hold it just far enough to drain, like about 12", similar to the front. I carry a block but it would be nice just to fold up or down a steel support.
Since you have access to both sides on the bottom, those many (small) dents...
Sold it and couldn't stand being without a dump. With some luck I got an M929A2 from North Dakota via GSA. Buying on 5 pictures was a gamble, but thankfully worked out.
You'll love having the dump.
Have you talked about a formed lip on the bottom too. It would give it some strength...
Yes, not just the rails, but those bulges. The metal is stretched out and heating to red takes the temper out and allows it to be brought back to (near) flat. I wished I had done more of that to my 817, but they were not as bad as on this 215.
Nice truck by the way. A rare find. Make her...
Not exactly the same application, but I've used construction adhesive, PL4000, as fill in where I want it to get hard...and it gets really hard. Another might be JB Weld. Both can be painted.
