if you cant find an exact match, get something higher rated. that being said I usually go to digikey for parts like this.

Higher rated diodes are ok to use. They need disconnected to test as the reversed bias ones will not give you usable results.

Depends on how far you wanna rig it. Avrs would need some degree of external control, but yea not something the average person would want to attempt.

I believe somebody here has already done the 803 to an ATS I did my 004 to a Generac ATS and I believe the N1 and N2 terminals are the normal Power detection points

If its like the units I've screwed with its a traditional water heater mixer with an air conditioner. So it draws about what a window shaker would when in heat pump mode
