I have Schneider/Xantrex equipment that handle inverting and charge management. I also have their system integration gateway. You can subscribe to optional services for cloud monitoring and management. The gateway is a self contained management and data recording tool. You can easily block the...
Grid-tied wthout battery is the least cost way to get into solar for sure. A few things to consider is with most grid-tie setups you have little to no solar power available during a utility outage. You'll still be running on generator backup during an outage.
In my case I'm not going to...
The neutral from the generator is taped off and not connected when you are testing 240v single phase. You will connect one HOT from the generator to L1, L2, L3 (bridged) on the 427 and the remaining HOT will connect to L0 on the 427. Be sure to connect the ground between generator and load bank...
Another thing I did back in the day when relays were everywhere is I had a buzzer box that would cycle the relay really fast for a few seconds. The contacts on industrial relays are self cleaning. They make contact with a slight wiping action that is supposed to keep oxide contamination under...
According to Emmerson's website using the cross reference service, the replacement for that one is ZRD125KCE-TF5-950 .
I did a search and was able to find them in stock in the $3k range.
I've not replaced one on these units but I have replaced them on other refrigeration units. You should be able to cross the compressor over to something readily available.
What info can you get from the data plate?
I read through CRF 40, Chapter 1, Subchapter C, Part 80 and from my interpretation, ULSD became the standard for everything except for a couple of carved out users in railroad and marine sectors. It reads that as part of Tier 3 adoption in 2014 there should be no diesel labeled offroad available...
Utility grade panels are produced to higher electrical and mechanical standards. They will be rated for higher wind and hail conditions (thicker glass and frames). One clue is looking at the string voltage limit. Utility grade panels will have a string voltage limit of 1000v or more. Residential...
One thing to consider is equipment that has been sitting for 10 years has fuel in it made to a different standard than fuel you buy today. Todays fuel has to meet a myriad of newer EPA requirements and does not age as well as fuel made from older formulations. I've started diesel equipment that...
The lithium batteries I use at home and at on the off grid property for power I keep between 30% and 80% SOC. I use a MEP831 at the off grid property to charge the batteries if the solar can't keep up. I can bring the pack up to 80% in about 2.5-3hrs of run time on the MEP. That is enough to run...
Lithium’s will work. You’ll want to use iron phosphate flavor with a BMS since they will work better voltage wise in place of SLA batteries. If you are running on DC input and the batteries are mostly discharged the unit may not start until their charge comes up some.
It depends on the age. I was looking at some MIL surplus wire about a year ago and the insulation was showing its age. It was becoming brittle and easy to damage. I ended up not buying it because I didn't want to have to deal with an internal short in a cable that was breaking down.
My advice...
To add, there is a different sound when the pump isn't pushing its normal fuel flow. Before the system is fully primed and pressurized, the pump sound will have more high frequency components. It will sound a little more rattly. Once the system is fully primed it will sound a little more dull...
