I've got a couple ratchet straps and a rental spring compressor from AutoZone, all good to go!
Okay obviously not, don't want to Chucky myself.
First I'll just take the assembly off and measure differences in ride heights.
Noticing just how stiff the front end is over bumps and it's lack of articulation got me thinking. As far as I'm aware, the leaf springs are the same on the A1R A1 A0. A1R adds those large coils as well but for what benefit - some have said for the ability to carry armor in the future. Seems...
Changing some tires, replaced the drag link. Got myself an air hammer and it's my new favorite tool, popped the drag link tapers right out! Next to try it on those large torque rods....
Have an A1R version (so the newest with the Cat C7). Considering picking up an MTVR in the future as I'm seeing quite a few popping up on Govplanet. Are there any key reliability issues with the MTVR? I'm liking they can go 65mph max versus the 58 of fmtvs (unless eco hubs added). Seems like a...
Regardless of the level of insulation, given enough time anything can get extremely hot. The more insulation the longer the process takes.
I have a 9kbtu mini split and it easily(less than 20% duty cycle) keeps the 20ft shipping container comfy during 90 degree temps in full sun.
I wonder how well it would circulate through the secondary cooler on my mtv. There is that piece people were thinking was a bypass. Guessing I should drain from the return before it goes back into the tranny.
$9703+122.5*$120/hr=$24,403
($/hr estimated). Also you must have spent money on tools and the time to research all this.
This hobby is very expensive.
Also...final? Does that ever happen with these?
I'm away from my computer and truck, but if I remember right, those lines are vents, not diff locks? There is a 1/4 line to the power divider on the middle diff, not sure about the lock front to rear out of transfer case.
Been using the truck a ton, kids love to eat dinner in it and we've been taking it to a local campground a few days a week.
Installed cedar on the sliding door area and found out how much I hate structural adhesives. Had to go back to tried and true screws.
Also installed the video system. 4...
You said back, but that's the middle differential. I haven't noticed a temp difference and have looked with a thermal camera. The middle differential does have some extra components and maybe it would be hotter if having to work harder to match the torque split (different tire inflation?)
Been using the truck a lot. Have a campground nearby and going for a lot of one night stays. Working on installing the camera system that records video(4x cameras). Installed cedar around the rear door, liking the water setup(27 gallon tank inside filled with Jerry cans - side compartment holds...
