    FMTV Torque Rods

Perhaps I'm not quite clear, but they can tilt as they have balljoints at both ends, not necessarily indicative of any issues.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I am able to remove mine without issue. Wonder if the D shaped pieces changed dimension at some point?

    From fire truck to MTV

Took it on it's first highway trip to Fort McCoy. Now with the new tires we can for further and at high speeds without worrying about old rubber. Truck did awesome, cruising at 65 was no issue. Did have some imbalance at times, seemed to come and go depending on tires getting in sync with each...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Unfortunately we do not have this ability - or at least no one has been able to yet.

    Transmission Filter Inspection Finding

Can you cut the hucks and just slide the crossmember rearward, not removing the box? Wonder why my m1096, that had a box on it, does have any crossmembers at all on the upper rail?

    Transmission Filter Inspection Finding

As to long as you don't have anything in the way, the bearing swap is very easy.

    Front axle vent lines clogged

My rear axle was leaking (out oil drain plug and shooting oil out the CTIS QRV) turned out the vent was completely clogged.

    Safety/reliability of 370hp tune (A1R)

Going up a local hill I could do it at 45 with just frame rails. After adding habitat (20ft shipping container) and all the other stuff(eco hubs too) I was at about 25mph today(about 2 min at full throttle). This is a very steep hill, but still that's a big drop. Weight before was about 20k...

    From fire truck to MTV

Taking it out most weekends and having a blast just getting away from the house. Long trips coming after completing the tires.

    From fire truck to MTV

Was doing a little testing of the Eco hubs and suspension deflection. No issues rubbing or traction. Drove over some 18" rocks and it was pretty controlled and didn't need much throttle in 1st. All new rubber from the Goodyear Commercial dealer. Took a little work for them to get. They showed...

    1083A1 doesn’t run longer than 45-60 seconds

I would check for a clogged tank vent.

LMTV FMTV front axle outer seal replacement

I found a screwdriver works much better than the seal tool. You can slowly work it in from the screwdriver pushing only on the metal portion of the seal, and you don't have to push that hard to drive the CTIS seals in

Have an FMTV, how is the MTVR in comparison?

    Appreciate the detailed assessment!

Have an FMTV, how is the MTVR in comparison?

Any thoughts on this one? I really like the mk25 winch. Seems like a pretty new example with A/C. Assuming tires will still need replacement. Looks quite complete...

    Electric AC?

I plan on a different route. Since I have the habitat temp controlled with heat pump and diesel heater options, I plan to run ducking from the habitat to the cab. Using 1 or two fans to force air to vents in the turret cover, then the air recirculates through the pass though. I like the idea of...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Neat, didn't know that. I was unable to find a spec for how far to run the nut on. Right now I have the nut just past the end of the valve stem (maybe .05" of the valve stem protrudes).

Have an FMTV, how is the MTVR in comparison?

From what I'm seeing recently, looks like $20k ish can get a running one in decent shape. Seems like a lot have "blow by" though. I wouldn't even mess with a non-runner as it could have a dead engine or transmission and who knows what else.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

They are not. The angle of the hose is slightly different, the internal threads valve threads start at the end versus being inset, the external thread doesn't have the "cross" on the end, they have a slightly different black seal (I put NOS orange on). Smaller diameter protective hose. They...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Tried the first tire change, new valve stems and orings. Unfortunately after a few minutes test at 100psi, it started leaking. The seal (NOS) migrated and a gap formed. The seal was compressed appropriately (unlike the ones I'm taking off that have all been crushed to oblivion). But the...
