Wish there was a reasonably priced source out there. I dislike the chunky elbow, but they work so I'm okay with it. I'm okay with companies making aftermarket options but this is like the 3rd time I've been burned by Midwest ... You'd think I would learn.
Unfortunately all the other CTIS seem to...
Had another trip this weekend, I'll start with the highlights...the negatives piss me off and are at the bottom.
Wonderful state park with very dark skies, some river crossings, incredible silence with no road noise. Kids found a friend and rode bikes, had wrestling matches, cooked smores. Had...
Replaced all my CTIS wheel valve assemblies with these: https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/replacement-ctis-wheel-rim-valve-air-hose-assembly/
From the outside they looked like NOS units and I didn't inspect too closely. They certainly looked good, the hoses were the correct length, high...
Replaced the gaskets on the oil cooler to avoid the potential for filtered oil mixing with non. Turbo shaft was smooth as could be with no play. Since it's not yellow I'm guessing it was replaced at some point.
Installed some gas springs on both pass through doors. Door to habitat was coated...
Well, I'll be joining you guys soon....

I've ordered quite a few things from oshcut, a number from corten as well. My generator is held on the truck with some of them.
Have a bambu x1c I've used to make various truck things. Working with solidworks as well.
Did this on my C7 today, went smoothly, except the studs wanted to turn into the manifold a little when using new nuts. Studs are now slightly inset from nut end now, this is exacerbated by the thicker grimspeed gasket. Cooler plate was warped about .015" but I was able to flatten it by putting...
Interesting, all that would point to the rear wearing faster, I wonder why the fronts are down more. Truck only has 3,000 miles so I doubt they've replaced any shoes. The wedge mechanisms are in good shape as well.
Are the front A1R cans larger than the backs? When checking my brakes I noticed the front shoes showed significantly more wear.
Edit: yes, 5.5"dia for rear, 6"dia for front
M1096 A1R here and when my abs was not functioning, I could easily lock my rear brakes and get going sideways. Load sensing valve makes a lot of sense and I would leave it. There is a reason race cars are fitted with brake bias adjusters.
Well, I finally got around to painting my rusty eco hubs. Sandblasted, primed and painted with Rust-Oleum flat black professional. Makes for very easy touch ups.
Also installed brand new CTIS assemblies, some of mine were looking crusty (all worked perfectly though, as I rebuilt them last year...
