That article has some incorrect info. All CUCV IIs were not originally white. They do not have full time all wheel drive. The only CUCV II Tahoes I've seen were the 2 door version (like the one I had). The only 4 door version I've seen was a single Suburban that sold quite a few years ago...
I've never heard of a 4 Door CUCV II Tahoe. It has a gas engine but a diesel bumper. The interior is certainly higher class than it should be. There should be a data tag on the inside of the drivers door that should tell the story.
There is just enough height in the cab protector to store the old style metal uprights, 4 on each side. If I find a few more dropside corners I'll have a complete set of bows, I'll just need to shorten and weld a set of metal bows to fit the narrower dump bed.
Jeff, does your m59 have holes...
Thanks Kenny, and thanks again for sending the link to the m215. Sure looks to me like there are differences in height.
Yes I remember at least the part numbers from Perfection Steel Body for both the m215 and m59 are the same. I had a list with the part numbers from the different...
I've got a couple NOS as-1729 antennas with the mx6707 bases and whips. $200 each.
Most of an NOS exhaust kit for GMC deuces (m211, m135, etc.) $400. Missing the short front pipe, includes a few NOS clamps and a few used ones, also some other pieces like the mounting brackets for the shield...
Cab protector is in good shape, just needs a little straightening.
Not too heavy to handle but the forklift makes it easier:
I think my guess that GMC cab protectors are taller than at least some of the REO ones is correct, maybe someone will post a height of an m59 one to compare. Doesn't...
Got the driver's side multifuel fender test fitted, this one is not bad with just a few small patches needed that I've welded in since the pictures. I'll pick up an NOS passenger side fender next week at the NJ show.
With a little bending we were able to get the bent bumper that came with the...
Another similar one:

The axles are similar to the ones used for the larger mep generator dollies, the bolt pattern is the same too. I'm sure it predates those by quite a bit though. I'd guess it was used to move a generator or other...
Probably an m55a2 but possibly the frame has been lengthened. In the picture from the front it doesn't look like the tandems are far enough back to be an m55a2 but the frame is definitely longer than a standard m54a2. Do you have a better picture of the fuel tank?
m39a2 is the series of trucks. Your truck is probably either an m54a2 (regular wheelbase cargo truck) or an m55a2 (long wheelbase cargo). I can't quite tell from the picture posted above but more pictures would help. The bed on the truck now is not original.
I changed out the emergency glad hand line yesterday and then ran the truck. Tightened up a couple other fittings and then let it sit. Over 24 hours later and there was still over 30lbs of air in the system so I'd say it's good.
Today I cut out both front cab corners and welded in new metal...
It's very similar to the m809 front end but unlike the m809s the grille is flat not curved outward. The air cleaner on the passenger fender and the intake elbow would indicate it's a multifuel m39a2 series truck.
I could have sworn I read that m16ty drove his m35a2 to the jobsite and then used the winches to move a 240,000lb object. I guess anyone who has ever winched out a stuck truck with a deuce didn't actually use their deuce to get it free, since an anchor with a winch attached could have done the...
A lot of people overpay for m416 trailers. While deuces are not as easy to find as they were 5-7 years ago, they are still around here and there on the civilian market for similar (civilian market) prices as back then.
Looks like this one will be on it's way from PA to VT in the hopefully not too distant future.
The owner says it was running many years ago and the cylinders were oiled and the engine turned once in a while. I don't want to cut up yet another truck for the m59 so maybe if it's not bad I...
