    Continuous Run Time for MEP-804A

I recommend reading the LO located in the link provided. Follow it. Oil analysis is not expensive. Analysis will tell you if you need to enhance the oil system to get the desired change interval. An additional bit of info is a 804 running in the 8-10kw output range is going to burn around...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Maybe or maybe not. During cranking the RPM of the engine is so low that the valves will open relatively slowly. You may not get a pop. If you really want to nail it in you put a dial indicator on the valves and a degree wheel on the crank. Just like we do when verifying valve timing on race...

    Continuous Run Time for MEP-804A

Hi Matt, Welcome to the site. Per the manual it is 300 hours or longer with oil analysis. The initial break-in change is 100 hours. Manuals here - https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?148936-All-the-TM-s-you-need-to-work-on-the-MEP-804A These machines are PRIME rated. They will...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Could be as simple as a valve adjustment being just a hair tight. I can hear the sound too. When I first put an engine together I tend to run a few extra thousandths extra clearance on the valves for the initial run-in. After everything has taken a basic set I'll bring them in to spec. If...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

It was me. Unfortunately I'm thousands of miles from home where the file is located.

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Have you checked the voltage between terminal C on L5 and the negative battery terminal when the HOLD circuit is active?

    DRASH (GETT) Modification Discussion

No need to get bogged down in theory when you are staring down the barrel of a hurricane. Bring two phases plus a neutral and ground from the generator and connect them as you would any other power source. I recommend looking at the schematic and see which two phases the VR senses from and...

    Hurricane Florence

In the spirit of full disclosure I am married to a Chinese woman. She has been wanting to show me around China for a long time. I'm finally taking a real vacation from work to do it. Culture shock is a real thing. Many things that are normal here would not work in the US or Europe. I'm...

    DRASH (GETT) Modification Discussion

You are on the right track. Its the phase relationship between the legs that accounts for the difference in voltage on the high voltage side. When two 120v phases are exactly opposite (180 degree out of phase) the math is simple meaning they are additive (technically we would use the same math...

    DRASH (GETT) Modification Discussion

Question 1 - Yes you can do that BUT you have to put a 30a overload ahead of anything rated for 30a (wire, connectors, outlets, etc). That means if you want to connect a 30a circuit to your 60a output you need to add a 30a breaker to be safe and compliant. Edit - You'll need to use a 30a 3 phase...

I'm hunkered down in Chengdu China (on vacation) hoping everything is going to be OK for the east coast.

That sounds like what I would do.

    DRASH (GETT) Modification Discussion

In my opinion people put too much effort into load balancing these sets when they are being used in emergency situations. As an example are you going to run the dryer much during an outrage? Look at the loads you are most likely to use simultaneously and see if you can spread them around the...

    DRASH (GETT) Modification Discussion

Why would you not consider rewiring some of the loads in your panel to make them 3-phase friendly? That could end up being the simpler option.

auto shutdown event need help to figure out

+1 on the overload. You will need every ounce of energy that an 803 can muster to start a motor that size. I'm actually surprised it did it EVER, Even unloaded. You have either a beast of an 803 or a really easy starting compressor.

Looking for Info on a Silencer for MEP03A (OK it's a muffler)....

Its laid out much like the main forum. There is a section for Aux Equipment. There is a button at the top of the page to take you directly to the classified section.

Looking for Info on a Silencer for MEP03A (OK it's a muffler)....

Good idea but the forum requires posting stuff for sale to be in the classified section. That perk requires a paid membership.
