Here is a pic I found via google. It states its a kenworth xm523, not quite the same but you can see the similarities. 25 ton 6x6 tractor.
AMGeneral posted while I was typing. :(
Last week I bought a "Special Tool Kit For All Military Vehicles, Wheeled And Tracked". It's the Military Version of the Max Ax. Today I made a mount for it using an extra clamp for a rifle mount.
Pic one is of the civi set, 2 and 3 is of the ax in my blazer.
I'd drop the tank down and take a look it it, it could be a defect. I had a parts blazer so rusty the tank sprung a leak just sitting in the drive way.
Today I think I have finally conquered my gen 1 charging issues. I also bolted an ammo can to the radio rack for some more storage, and painted and installed the correct bridge plate bracket.
The green tarps fit much better than the camo ones, which are really baggy. The camo ones sit right at the tie downs on an m101. At first I thought the the camo tarp on one of our trailers was for an m105, but its just a lot roomier than the green ones.
You could get an m275 short wheel base or m48 long wheel base for a deuce tractor. There are some conversion threads on here of cargo trucks to tractors as well.
You can get the canvas for just over a hundred bucks usually, or a vinyl m101cdn cover would work as well. I'm gonna get a vinyl one because it will match the camo on mine.
Here are a few I've found online, but didn't write down the sources. There are a bunch of pics of the cucv on page 1, on flickr.com I believe, posted by the driver of it.
So today we welded up the holes in the frame, swapped out a tire, and removed some metal where the lunette mounts to clear the teleswivel. That thing's got to weigh close to 100 pounds, not fun to test fit 20 times.
Pic two shows where the metal was to be removed to make the hitch work.
Now that the tank is off, the frame will be painted as soon as the weather allows it. The tank is carefully propped up on a 55 gallon drum, a metal stand, two mail carts, and a pallet.[thumbzup] Today we removed the lunette on the m107, and removed the teleswivel hitch from the m105 in the...
A few days ago we removed the fenders, and the lights and wiring.
Yesterday we removed all the plumbing, and removed the tank. We also removed the hinge pins for the boxes so the halves can be sandblasted.
Thought I'd post a thread on the progress of the m107a2 we picked up in PA last week. The frame is solid, just needs some clean up before primer and paint, as well as welding up some holes from the fire departments running lights.
The fenders are real straight, just need some welding where...
