It does have one built in, it is not sufficient for heavy towing. No matter how many coolers you plumb in, you still have to face the fact that the 3.08 gearing of the M1009 is not tow friendly.

About 60 miles or less after you are on the road you will get a nice shower of ATF on your tailgate/window. That's too much weight for a stock M1009, they are geared too high to tow that much any distance. It's going to overheat the transmission and blow ATF out the rear output seal.

Your starter relay is stuck, it is located under the dash up under and behind the STEICE diagnostic connector, a rectangular silver box.

Is the OAL of the 700r4 the same as the 400?, if so I think the swap would be ok, if not the pto shaft length would have to be changed.

Would like to change the gearing on my M1031, will be using stock size tires. I changed a M1008 I had to 3.73 and it worked fine, my concern with the 1031 is the weight, 9200lbs, don't want it to be a dog. Thanks.

It is suppose to cycle after startup, if not the card is defective. I drove these cucv's for 20 years in the military and have driven one as a daily driver for 10+, they are suppose to cycle.

They should cycle 4 or five times in a row, you can watch your volt meter deflect each time. They will not cycle through the entire high idle period. You need to be more specific with the problem, is it staying on continuous or longer than you think it should? When cold the glow plug light...

I just had my steeering wheel off to repair the dimmer switch, it will only go on one way.

The sensor is on the right side near the heater hose connection on the radiator.

I bought mine from DB, after about 30 days the nose cone bushing fell out. I replaced the nose cone from another one I had as a fix. Did not have time to send it back/exchange. I think if you can, have the original rebuilt. The newer starter is easier to install, and lighter.

If the relay stays on, and it checks out ok than it has to be the controll card telling it to stay on. Pull the card, turn the key on and then jump the blue wire coming into the card box to ground, the relay should energize, unground and it should de-energize, if so you just confirmed your card...

Pull the large pink wire from the front of the IP, release the two clips holding the filter on, have rags underneath filter, pull filter straight off, install new filter straight on being carefull not to damage probes, secure two mounting clips, attach hose to top drain fitting on filter base...

Battery should be a group 31 not 30, don't skimp here. A K&N air filter will help as well.

The temp sensor is stuck "on", replace it and you should be good to go.
