Travis, I am sorry if I upset you, that was not my intention. I am not questioning your credentials and I want to thank you for your service to the country. I did not come here for a fight, I fought my battles many years ago in a jungle far away. I apologize to anyone I have offended here. Over...
Travis, Please tell me you do not believe what you find on Google?! Ask most anyone over 55 if they have done this. I do not know how old you are but you really need to think outside of the engineering box. I am not going to continue to debate it. If I have time I will copy the section in the...
Army jeep parts will have it but as was said, they sell out fast. There may be other places to get Gillespie paint but at the show, no hazmat. Yes you pay a little more for it but nowhere what you pay for a hazmat delivery charge.

OK, This will be my last post on this subject because I can see the mechanical engineer in you is not looking at this with an open mind. I am not saying that holding the brake will give you an instant locker. What I am saying is this, IF your brakes are adjusted correctly and you apply some, not...
This is a tried and proven method of gaining traction. Been done for more years than most of us have been alive. It forces the differential to transfer some of the power to the unloaded wheel. This is done by way of equalizing the force between the wheels by using the brakes.

If Cabell does not have it then Army Jeep Parts carries it but you might want to call them before the show since I have never seen gray there. They only bring the most common colors unless you call ahead of time.

OH MAN! You had to bring up that speedo picture! That pick up is right around the corner from my house, (ask EMD and Ferro) and that kind of rig does not surprise me around there. The local cops would not bother it, they don't want to get out of their cars. Staties on the other hand would have a...
You can only jump one battery at a time. You would hook the cables to you civvie normally and to the cucv to pos and neg on ONE battery only! Hook directly to the terminals on ONE battery, do not hook grond to body. Charge that battery for a little while then switch to other battery. There is no...
Originality does not seem to be an issue since he already has a Duramax in it. I do agree that the steel armor is a waste if it is not original because any value added by it is subtracted by the engine swap. If you have to do it then go with aluminum so you still have a fairly safe vehicle...
It has been a long time since I did one but if I remember correctly the balls are two different sizes in there and they have to alternate small-large. The difference is very small so you have to measure each one. Originally they were different color but not after years of use.

That seems to be a VERY common complaint on this site anymore, a lot of criticism and not much help. I was told in an e-mail by Chris that things were going to change. Guess not. This is supposed to be a help forum not a private club, as was mentioned if you can't help don't comment. Those...
If I remember correctly there should be a transducer screwed in where the cable would go, you should be able to take out the transducer and put in the cable. Now whether it is the right ratio remains to be seen.

It is looking like I am not going to make it, just have too much to get done on my fleet to go to Aberdeen.
Sorry guy's.
I will have more time next year and I will plan ahead.

I have seen a lot of 6.2's break in the same exact spot. A lot of the time it is from using ether. Could have been a balancer if you were really twisting it. Forget replacing the crank, the timing cover is going to be trashed and the front main journal will be either cracked or severely gouged...
Note his last sentence, "with everything locked driveshaft rotates freely." He had already verified that the hubs were working correctly. That tells me there is no connection between the shaft and the axles. Granted, the way he did the test is not conclusive at all since the wheels are being...
I used to own a 4X4 shop in the 70's, I am real familiar with drive shafts. If once you get the joint in the yoke is stiff you can smack the yoke with a hammer just below each cap you had put in. This will usually free up the joint by backing the caps out to the clip.
