In addition I like to give the wires a gentle tug at the crimped terminals to check for bad crimps. I have chased my tail a number of times to find the problem in a bad crimp connector.
If you are running a light/medium load you need to plan for 0.7gal/hr average.
Are you planning to run 24/7 or can you run during strategic times as needed?
Personally I have 40gal online at any one time.
Exactly Guyfang, that is why its important to see if there is fuel returning to the tank before chasing your tail around other things. Its a quick and easy thing that gives you a lot of troubleshooting info.
How do the pumps sound? Were they clicking quickly or slowly? Could you hear fuel returning to the fuel tank?
If they are clicking fast they are either moving a lot of fuel (not likely) or have a blockage on the intake side. If they are clicking slowly they are seeing high resistance on the...
If you look at the dryer elements you'll see that modifying them for lower wattage should be straight forward. You'll need a good crimp connection. A small split bold connector will also work. You can shorten them and rewire them into multiple circuits for different loads in the same frame...
Unfortunately this is not correct. Any and all temporary generators delivering 120v loads 30a and under require GFCI protected circuits. The only way around this is to connect it to the building (or RV) wiring then the code for the building wiring takes precedence.
If you want to read the code...
I have mixed feelings about it. For one auction I was trying to get a bid in late in hopes of winning the item and saw that it got extended. That was disappointing since it ran the bid up quite a bit. For another auction someone did the same to my bid at the last minute and I appreciated the...
GL doesn't allow sniping. They extend the auction if you or anyone places last minute bids. You can read how it works in the faq section of their site.
Have fun with the new machine!
It is better in my opinion to get a diesel specific oil. Those oils have higher TBN numbers and different additive packages to help resist the waste products of diesel engines. If you don't run the engine much and change the oil more on time than engine hours I would say it matters less. If you...
I tend to use RotellaT Synthetic Blend. It flows really well cold and is much cheaper than Mobile 1 Diesel. Not a slam on the Mobile 1 product. I just couldn't justify the difference in cost for something that I was going to change yearly and put only a few hours on.
I do run the Delvac1...
I have a prototype going. I've not been able to work on it for the last year because I'm on a big engineering project that is 3000 miles from home. I'll be on the project through Sept of 2017. I won't be able to make any real progress on it till I get back home.
Of the 6 MEP831 generators I've...
Unless you want to spend over $500 on a battery I suggest you use a couple of motorcycle batteries in series.
You can see how I handled it here:

The stock 24v battery...
Certainly check for loose connections. That is always the first thing to run down. Check for 24v DC power at the governor module when you have the "RUN" switch on. Make sure power to the governor follows the "RUN" switch position correctly.
Before this happens does the generator regulate...
Can you describe the events in the sequence as you know more?
Does the magnet capture the throttle target and the engine continues to run or does the magnet not capture the target?
If you flip the "RUN" switch back on does the generator pick up and control speed again?
What happens if you...
Absolutely. The power from a MEP is high quality. If you see it on a scope you will see it is VERY clean. My UPS may click online for a second when the heatpump kicks on but that is from a short dip in voltage from the high current surge of the compressor.
