I found out that "The Gunny" R. Lee Ermey was in town today. He was at the GT Distributors Glocktober fest signing autographs. Well, you know I couldn't miss it but what to have him sign. After some thought I decided to have him sigh what every other MV owner would want him to sign. You guessed...
wreckerman, I unfortunately know what it is like to lose troops under your command and be helpless to do anything about it. I guess that’s why I try to help out whenever I can. Still the NCO at heart. I can't thank you fellas enough for watching my "6" on this issue. After being a GI so long...
Thanks fellas,
I obviously need to put a bit more thought into this endeavor. I strongly agree with the insurance issue put forth. I was just trying to help out I didn't think this might devolve into an insurance issue. What a sad world we live in.
Fireman, thanks for the useful info...
My MVCC club will be heading up to the Bridgeport, TX OHV park on the 20th of Oct for our first annual trail ride. If they have a river I will test. What would be the beat way yo measure the water flow. Any hydro-engineers out there.
I have offered my assistance to the local FD. In case of any natural disasters, emergency's or zombie uprisings. The local Chief remembers the deuce well and it's firefighting abilities. He welcomed me and my deuce and will put us on the contact roster as FD "resources".
One of the things...
Looking forward to the show myself. I will be there on Sunday only due to some scheduling issues. Comming from an old Army Abrims Tanker I would have loved to been there when they moved Benabago. Maybe next time.
Whew, That was a close one. If all you lost was a few batteries consider yourself lucky. Let em know if you need any help. I'd love to come over and see the truck. BTW nice picks but it looks like you may have some trouble pulling it into the garage. LOL.
Looking good Keith. Sorry your breaks are so FUBAR.Hook up the service air and emergency air from the deuce to the 5 ton. This will charge the brakes on the 5 ton and the brakes on the deuce will operate the 5 ton breaks. Just like any trailer with air brakes. DO NOT TOW the 5 ton with Hawks...
I was considering new shocks when my front end was giving me some trouble. Glad I didn't. Come to find out a front end alignment, 3% shims and replacing the rubber shock spacers did the trick. Let us know which ones you decide on and how they work
Tell me about it. The VA is as FUBAR as it gets. Don't expect anything to get done in a timely manner. BTW I found you a welder. It just so happens that walews neighbor (who is also a club member) should be able to help out if there is not a great deal of fab work.
Great mod, I have been beating the idea of adding some real off road lights to me deuce for months now. Now that I have a hard top I half considered putting them where you did. I have also considered on the front bumper, on the fenders or even making brackets to mount them to the windshield...
Thanks fellas. At least there was one person out there who knew what what the front brackets are for. I always knew the short sticks and the metal elbows went in the storage rack that is mounted to the front of the headache rack. I never knew the bows had a home. Learn something new everyday...
Yes. 6 holes in two groups of three. If you look close you can see the two triangle shaped groups of holes. And thanks Recovery 4x4 for the heads up on the front brackets. That makes sense.
I'm just churous to know what these brackets are for. I have looked in the TM's and searched the web for any mention and could not find anything.
The first bar is on the front of the bed on both L/R sides. It has hanging from it two metal pieces that are the same as the ones on the metal...
I agree with you to an extent. I think I might not have as big an issue with this if these trucks where still a dime a dozen. I guess it's better to see the truck restored as a bobber than just rusting away in some field.
I think the hurdle I'm having a hard time clearing is the core values...
