I have really enjoyed this thread. I learn from the differences. I am always amazed at the low HP and Lb/FT. And wished thay made more power.
Having said that, It is a Multi-fuel engine. Its not a tractor-puller, or a drag racer. Given a choice between a 500 HP motor, or a motor that will...
I am sure that in the service, some young mechanic just ran it in with an air wrench. Since there was no gasket, the tighter the better. I did not bring out my air-wrench, but I am not certain it would have removed it. Certainly not after I rounded the plug.
So I just have to read the TM's...
I have a Air powered pump, that I drive of of glad hands on the back of the Deuce. It does drain the air tanks, but the Deuce has enough air to power the transfer from a 55gal drum to a 250ish gallon holding tank. Sorry I dont have picts.
I just want to say how impressed I am with your Knowledge. I do have all the TM's down loaded. But it sometimes takes me a long time to find the answer. Thanks for taking the time to help us new people!

I did install a washer. I was just surprised that there was NOT one when I removed the drain plug. It also didn't really leak before (without a washer). Overall I was just surprised at what I found. It all fixed now. Thanks for your help.
I drained the oil last weekend, and installed Spin-on filters (thanks Jatonka!). I could not remove the rear Oil plug. I used a cheater bar on the ratchet, and ended up rounding the corners on the drain plug. I ended up removing it with a huge pipe wrench. I cleaned it up with a file, and it...
It is designed to be down in the flow of air. If you shorten the tube, it would change the function. The air rushing by does create a draft (suction).
Thanks
Live and Learn. I am sure you will know what to do Next time! I am surprised no one mentioned "not to trust the fuel gauge"!!!!! By the way, most of us (ME!) have learned this the hard way...
I often run WMO. Sometimes as high as 100%. Sometimes just a gallon, or two. I always depress the accelerator, with the starter going. Once it catches, I take my foor of the pedel (immediatily!!). It starts quicker, and does not raise the starting RPM. Just my solution...
What are you lifting with it? I would like to be able to Load/Unload 55gal barrells. I think they run about 450-500 lbs. Have you done that yet?
Thanks
I have a barrel of a product called "Lubrakleen" it is made by a oil company, "Hydrotex" in texas. It seems like STP, and is a Fuel, or oil, additive. Any idea if this could be used as fuel in the MultiFuel? Or does anyone know about this product? Could one burn STP (probably thinned with...
One of the things I have done is cap the intake pipe, and drill holes on the side of the intake. I dont know if it makes any difference, by it seems to me there would be less crap taken in, since you are not on the bottom of the tank. Or just have a shorter intake. You also can wrap screen...
Hey ISG20inophir, I like your install. I have been thinking of the same thing. I would like to have the ability to keep the troop seats also. Any thought of putting the crane more toward the center of the bed, at the back? Or maybe some way to be able to remove it when needed?
Thanks
Ok, so without picts, is this a good price? if as described? What is a average going price for a good quality Deuce? As I understand it, they are more expensive out west, is that right? And before you all kill me, I know there are so many variables, and I am just asking in generalities.
