I was between 1/8 and 1/4 toe in. Those measurements where taken with out any adjustments. My toe in was only 1/16 out and I am still cupping like this. That's my issue.
Okay Red, I did my measurements and if I got it right I am toe in 3/16. That's only 1/16 off what the TM suggests. Is that 1/16 going to make that big of a difference that outside of my passanger side tire should be wearing so unevenly. Incase your wondering my tire pressure is good at 50psi...
Okay. So you dont move the truck? As I read the TM I understood that you mark the tread on the front 3 O'clock position, measure then roll the truck back or forth till that same mark is at the 9 O'clock position and measure again. What your telling me is to make two marks. One at 3 and one at...
Okay, I'm more confused than ever now. I found center of each tread at 18.3" above the ground. My measurement from mark to mark is 67.75 on the front side. I then moved the truck till the marks where on the back side appx 18" off the ground. I measured again and I got 67.57 on the back side...
Thanks for the info on the toe in issue and the tie rod end inspection. I would assume that I need to do the tie rod end inspection before I make my toe in adjustments. Second, when you spin the tie rod itself to adjust your toe in do you need to take the pressure off the front wheels or can...
I looked at the toe-in adjustment in TM 9-2320-361-24-2. I get it and now understand the procedure. However I have a few questions. The TM says to loosen both tie rod end bolts and turn the tie rod itself to find the proper toe in of 0.13in. My Q is do you loosen both rod ends if only one tire...
My idea would be to do something like pritchie"s truck mod but with collapsible sides and benches. Kind of like an M35a2c but re-engineer the bed to side hinges so they will fold down to the inside and lay flat on the bed. They would be easy to install, not much modification needed from an old...
Not to my knowledge. I'm retired Army plus a USMC brat. I've been to gun/knife shows all over. This is the first time I've seen it. I sure am glad to see that someone finally had the "Monkey touch the Monolith" moment and made this happen. An MV display at a gun/knife show should be as obvious...
You think that's bad. I had my hood fly open at 0.0mph. Thanks to these Texas winds I was on the fender lifting the hood for my pre-flight PMCS. Mama and the pups where already in the cab. When the 25mph gust hit. The hood was ripped out of my hand and hit the windshield with great force and a...
Sniperboy,
You can run a wire from the + terminal of battery A and run your neg off the CB to chaise ground. However, this is not a recommended permanent solution. Among other issues It will quickly kill batt A. There are as many options as there are MV owners on this site and they all have...
flyusn,
Thanks for the picks. Your right, there is a huge difference. The older style looks heftier and dang near bullet proof. Do you know when they stopped making these older style radiators.
I re-soldered the neck on mine and it seems to be holding for now. I tried to hook up with my buddy...
I started to reach for the ammo and the bug out bag. I'm just as glad to see SS back up and running again as much as the next man. But this "SNAFU" brings up some real concerns for me.
I think we should look at the big picture here. We now know how easy it is for all of us to lose contact with...
If you have any other cars you can pull the batts out of them. It's nice out so you shouldn't need any serious CCA. Just use the car batts for the day. Also check the connection at your solenoid, alternator and starter. they may just need a tightening or you may have a chaise ground along the...
Manny thanks lawdog. I agree, I'm not playing around with this. I'm going to buy a pressure gauge when I head down to Austin next month. I'm check to see if one of the trucks down there has the old style radiator that flynusn was talking about. If so and it's in good condition I'll pull it and...
That's one heck of a project. Once I finish my deuce that's my next MV of choice. You said that you bought it mid restoration. WOW, I'd hate to have seen it pre-restoration. Did he use the fuzzy red dice as a bargaining tool or did he throw them in.
Thanks James, that would be great. That way I will know exactly what to look for. Glenn
By the way, thanks immensely for the radiator 101 class. Hopefully I can pass the knowledge on if anyone ever asks me. Learn somthin new every day. That's my motto.
