All set for the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital "Ride A Crooked Trail" Car show tomorrow (say that with a mouth full of peanuts). For those of you planning on participating but not pre-registered, they have a convoluted entry set up. The only way for vehicles that are showing to get in is off...
The show organizers still want us but the Property Manager said they don't want the Show there. It's moved across I10 to a church parking lot (Oak Hills?).
Military style units wouldn't meet all the standards crap (crash safety, madatory air bags, fuel mileage, etc) that production vehicles must meet. One of the big reasons there aren't affordable cars any more.
I ordered all of the manuals on a disc and you can print them off of that but finding an actual hard copy might be difficult. Typically what I do is find the section I need and just print those pages. Saves on printer ink and I don't have to thumb through a whole stack while I'm working on...
Don't feel bad I put a nice dent in mine loading the Goat once. I swore I closed the hitch and someone must have come along in the 2 minutes it took to start the Goat and move it onto the trailer and unlatched it again. The trailer pulled a nice wheeley and gave the tailgate a love tap.
Heard there was an issue with the tailgate but was told I'd need to get the story from the owner. Red River Parts has NOS tailgates for $140 (or close to that). I got mine from them and was very happy with it.

We did have a few show up later, Airbornebandsman, Tank007, and Tornadogt, but it turns out the local Mustang Club that puts on the show once a month was told by the property manager that they didn't want us (the show) there. Forget that all the businesses (who never complained to us) lose out...
I know I answered this back in May but didn't really have any good pics of the Goat on a trailer. Since I had it out today I thought I'd get some better ones to give you an idea. This is on a 20' long 7' wide car hauler. There's not a lot of room between the fenders but enough to fit. Where...
Loaded up and ready to go. It sure will be a lot easier coming to these things once I have some decent tires and brake lights so I can drive versus fighting with the trailer.
Won't be able to make the Bill Miller you guys go to but I'll hit the one at Bulverde and 281 and think of you while...
All you have to do is be interested in MVs, don't even have to own one. We've got several folks in the club that have CUCVs only, started with CUCVs and added to their collection, had a collection and added CUCVs, and some who couldn't tell you what a CUCV is.
All you need to get on Mabry is a...
Warthog is correct. Lone Star MVPA meets at the Museum at Camp Mabry the 3rd Wed of every month at 7pm (so the 17th this month). Unfortunately I won't be making that meeting as I'm getting ready for the MVPA Convention. I'm just north of San Antonio so it's a bit of a drive for me. If I was...
That's very selfish of you to be working on your own vehicles when there are so many less fortunate (to have your skills) having to work on their own vehicles. You should really evaluate your priorities.
