Is anyone here planning on attending the National Convention early in August? Not sure if I'm going yet or not, but this is the closest it's been to me since the VA one about 10 years back. Would love to go, heard the Nationals is an awesome event....
Also, are there any decent yards or...
Well, wasn't lucky enough to come this year, but the least I can do is start the picture thread for everyone who was a participant. If you got pics from the big event, post them here!
A pic from last year to get us started!
Does anyone have any pics of a 4-wheel platform type warehouse trailer that is used by the military at any number of bases? I've seen them occasionally at GL, wondered if someone here has closeup pics so I can look it over for a potential future project. They are about 4x8 feet or so, usually...
Was cruising on the information supertollbooth today and ran across a closed eBay ad from March 2011, of a rare bird. Looks like one of the first mechanical mule prototypes, looks like it was a no-sale at a high bid of less than $300. I'm not sure if the seller still has it.
Anyways, here's...
Was driving south on Rt. 11 just south of Winchester VA and the sight of a large angular truck caught my eye. Turned out it was a 10-ton M123, which had been modded into a fire truck of some sort. There was a pump on the front and some form of bed put onto the back that looked like it had one...
Has anyone ever modified a Mule to tow a trailer behind it? It's kinda hard, being that the engine is in the back, but I think with a little ingenuity one could haul a small yardwork trailer, or a 1/4-ton jeep trailer, behind it for hauling firewood or boxes....
After a colorful and decorated 52 years of service to the Army, the UH-1 Iroquois (or "Huey" as it was commonly called) has finally been retired from all service duties. More info in the link.
Don't trust any bird under 40!

Saw a neat M101A3 trailer at the Aberdeen show, with the HMMWV rims installed, wide fenders, etc. I forgot to take a couple pics of it. Anyone own a M101A3 that can take some closeup pics of it for me?
Tried all sizes of pics, B&W or color, .jog or .gif, doesn't matter. Whenever I try and upload a pic, it just sits there saying "uploading" and it never gets done.
FWIW, I PMed mangus about it, apparently he doesn't care much.
Cabell said he's coming up to Syria VA on Memorial Day weekend, and we are planning on doing some trail scouting and light clearing on Saturday May 28th. I plan on doing some work that day, already cleared my schedule so I can help.
Anyone else local to Central VA wanna help out? We have...
Need close up pics and dimensions of the circled area on the M762 1/2-ton trailer, which is the flatbed version of the M416 cargo trailer. Can't find the parts I need, so I am going to have them made up.
Thought this might be important, I've seen plenty of trailers for sale on GL that have no fenders, never had fenders, etc. However, there are states that require if you use a trailer on the road, the state would require you have fenders on the unit, so if you have a M332 or a M200 without...
Saw some pretty neat trailers on the offroad boards. Wanted to start a thread with Steel Soldiers custom-built trailers for their own unique purposes.
Only for custom or modified trailers, if you have a nicely restored trailer that's great, but not for this thread...
Is there an aftermarket source for different gear ratios for the Rockwell axles? I went to Boyce Equipment's website and they only sell with standard gear ratios, I thought it anyone had different ratios they would.
Had a couple PRC-77s here from a customer, he needed one of them stripped and repainted as it had a LOT of previous paint jobs on it. I'm talking about 20 layers, it was actually soft, forming a cushy layer on the outside. The paint was so thick you couldn't see the screws on the latches of...
Is original 24087 (and other original military paint that is NOT CARC) lead-based paint? Should we be paranoid about sanding old military paint without a particle mask on?
For those who are going to Aberdeen next month, and want to travel in a group with other MV owners to the show, arriving on Thursday, May 12th, there is the East Coast Convoy. There are convoy serials coming from the north and south, along I-95, and there are plenty of stopping points along the...
