Worth a shot. The decal is 3/8" wide by just under 1/4" tall. You have the dimensions of the actual plate so between those numbers you should be able to scale it pretty close. Not sure my eyes will be good enough to place it without the use of the Hubbell Telescope though.
Here's something...
Well I guess when the blaster said "Friday" they didn't specify which Friday. It seemed they certainly implied today but I wasn't really expecting it would be done today. Oh well I was able to drop off the ammo can rack to be blasted too.
Thanks but I'm going to try and get a full set of data/info plates to replace all of them. Unfortunately the fellow who runs the site is laid up with a couple of broken legs at the moment. I'll make due until he can hobble around to his storage area.
As to the A-Team - this is way cooler than...
It was Christmas in March this afternoon!
UPS man brought 3 different packages. First 2 were Goat parts and the 3rd was a M561 model by Tamiya.
The parts include a take out steering box, 2 NOS fiberglass seat shells, 4 NOS seat cushions, 2 NOS battery covers, and a take off ammo can rack. At...
Already bought an almost direct replacement. Wiring is kind of hinky and not sure what they expect you to do. Almost like "stab" style wall outlets but not sure if I need to solder on a tip to the wire to stab it or what.
I've gotten a couple of David's books and they've all been very informative. I picked one up for the M151 while I was trying to locate one to buy and wound up getting the M561 after I got the Goat.
My apologies to Keith_J. A lot of effort went in to clearing the old brake hoses on the Goat then reinstalling them once they were cleared. Two days after the last one was done I got 6 new brake lines in the mail  Well we thought we'd have to revisit the issue at some point so now we...
I'm not going to the event but would like to comment on the swap meet issue. One of the ways the museum supports itself is through vendor fees from the swap meet. This is their event that we're allowed to participate in. Personally I think having some items for sale at the offroad park is a...
TGI Blast Day! Drop it off this morning and they thought they'd be done by Friday. Could be we'll be seeing at least some primer on it this time next week.
Since the steering wheel doesn't return to center you can't flat tow it and I don't have a trailer to haul behind the deuce.
The blaster is just inside 1604 in San Antonio so not too far to go
I got in touch with the blaster yesterday and he said bring it in Tuesday. Problem is there still aren't any brakes other than the parking brake. Never fear! Keith_J and the Wonder M1031 to the rescue!
First thing we did was unwind the winch cable so they can get the winch completely blasted...
Got a little bit more done today and sent a text to the blaster asking when we can get this scheduled so I don't have to do any more. It appears that the Forest Service stripped the front fenders at some point. There is a single layer of yellow and then some non-skid painted just outside the...
You certainly make some valid points and generally I would agree, but (and you knew there was going to be a but - fill in your own joke here) when you say you're going to do something one way and I agree to that way, then do it. Don't come back and change things up to make yourself some more...
Bought some mirror arms from Eastern Surplus and they arrived today. Items look great but they charged me $22 (for 4 mirror arms) shipping via FedEx then sent them USPS for under $15. If they had charged $2 more per mirror arm I would have been fine with that but by jacking up the shipping to...
Keith_J and TexAndy dropped by today to do a little more work on the Goat. While Keith was working on clearing the front brake lines Andy and I were scrapping some more paint. The driveway was littered with CUCVs to the point of having our own MV show. While we got a late start progress was...
It was supposed to be raining today so planned some honey-do's and then hitting our MVPA meeting this evening. Turns out it rained between midnight and 0600 but hasn't since. I did get a couple of small things done but need to knock off to get the chores done and head toward Austin.
Hit the...
Happy St Patrick's Day!
Guess what I did today. Actually I did a little bit more. At 0800 I was at the tax office getting it registered. I went with the FMV tag as I plan to drive it before I get any bumper numbers painted so didn't want any issues with the local LEOs.
