Before you start asking questions about getting it home, read GLs "terms of use" before deciding to go that route so you don't have a few grand tied up in a truck that cannot come home anytime soon.
The hold status did not come down until Friday afternoon so we do not know that EUCs are still getting processed at this point. I would bet that they are not.
I would also bet that this has to do with the m35a2s getting pulled from the last auction cycle and it just took two weeks for the hold...
I am only 12 days into my 60 day wait so I have plenty of time to sit tight. I also have the feeling that the clocks officially stopped when the hold order was issued. We are talking about a lot of money in sold trucks and GL is not going to be in any hurry to hand it all back.
I think that a...
Because he doesn't know just like everybody else. Military orders come down from the top often without explanation and he has to follow them. Probably he got the call and when he asked for an explanation, the secretary who was told to call him really did not have much interest in the topic and...
I am not convinced this is about the gauges. It is a relatively small number of trucks on the "hold list" when you compared to the numbers of the same trucks that they have sold over the past few years that are not on the hold list. If it was a radiation issue they were concerned about they...
My plan of action is to wait it out as well; at least for a reasonable amount of time. Seeing as it took two months for the code review/change to go from just a code review to GL being told to hold all trucks I have a feeling that the inspections will take a while.
You can't, DRMS only deals with state and foreign governments, local municipalities, airports and some governments supported not-for-profits. Once they exhaust those outlets anything left over goes to GL.
The official relationship is that they are a private contractor that sells stuff for the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service
That is correct: if you read the mission of DRMS it states "
Our mission is to provide the DOD's best value services and deliver great performance to our...
I know this because there is no transparency and when ever I use auto bid the majority of my wins close dead on my top price. I have pretty much quit using auto bid on GL auctions because of it and I mentioned it in another post on here a few weeks ago. I was told it was just coincident so I...
Um...anybody would be dumb to bid double on any of these trucks... there are dozens for sale on ebay and craigslist right now and most are not selling for squat. An m35a2 with a starting bid of 1500.00 here in KY closed on ebay today with no bids.
Given your avatar pic, it amuses me that you enjoy sitting back and watching everybody else get threaded on. Obviously you have nothing invested in any of these truck right now.
I think it is interesting to note that they have not pulled the m35a2s again yet.
I also think it is safe to say that GL deuce prices should be lower if they go back on sale. While I know that GL "shill bids" I doubt that the Dept of Defense cares.
DEMIL CODE CHANGES – RETURN OF RESTRICTED PROPERTY ( top )
In the event that DRMS changes a Demil Code or determines that an item offered for sale by GL may not be sold, or must be sold with restrictions, GL may withdraw the item from sale or place additional restrictions on the sale at any...
While I appreciate your resolve I am going to sit this out. I know from past experience that when GL is pressured they simply cancel and refund money and I still want my trucks.
Oh, I just wanted to add that I am raising my hand :-D
Having spent time in the military I know full well that the way the DOD operates is not reflective of the Government in general.
If they want the truck back they pay the price you payed plus transportation costs. I understand your situation with the distance, but I would load out anyway. If you provide them with the EUC and paid in full invoice you have met their terms and conditions. They would either have to allow you...
Yes the new owner also has to abide by the EUC, which is why we are supposed to send in a permission slip to sell that includes the name and address of the new owner....then they get a letter stating the EUC rules.
If I had a Paid in Full I would load out... per the terms and conditions it is...
When it comes to a wheeled vehicle wide tires in snow is like putting the rig on sleds all the way around. Yes a Snow Cat uses wide tracks, but it also uses long tracks. A tire only makes a 1-2 inch contact area with the ground/snow, a snow cat track contacts 12-15 ft. It is also cleated...
If I was you I would try and borrow a tow bar and grab the Kentucky truck first and then snag the other truck at bordentown on he way through. You could probably find somebody in that area to remove and store the truck for you so it would not matter what day you went through.
If the Fort Knox...
