Buckets, buckets, buckets... what's this about buckets? Funny, I didn't SEE any buckets? Did everyone get a bucket?
(PSSST: maybe were they special, secret buckets?)
(Maybe... can I get a bucket next time?)

Great story, happy ending... but Greyhound bus ride to Victorville--- ouch! Next trip I would reccomend Ontario Airport, much closer, much nicer and heck--- you could get the Super Shuttle one-way for about $50... and darn sure--- SS folks are about the best there is!
Good luck on your...
Thanks K, and as a total fabrication newbie I would've hardly believed some of the mating panel work that's been done until I sat and watched a whole segment on American Chopper where a guy did similar work to fenders and fuel tank. Amazing finish and not a ripple in sight. With some experience...
Hear Ye' Hear Ye'! Eternal gratitude to The Great and Powerful Wizard of Doghead, who helps all in need and who granted me Courage and gave my truck a Heart! Declared on this Day, April 15, 2011, in The Olive Green City, in Wonderful Land of OG!
(:D...there's no place like home... there's no...
Hey now, I'm with you on this thread, hope to see the finished results!
Looking to do some welding/panel-mating myself. Got 2 stepside beds that are beat to hekK with the front parts of one in good shape and parts of the other the rear is in fair shape--- but niether as a whole. So in my...
Hew now--- you guys gettin' me sceert! Just went outside and looked under my 1008 and I don't see anything like what your picture shows. Please? What vehicle are we talkin' 'bout here?:lost:
A while back I redid my civi-gasser's valve covers and intake manifold but before I took 'em in for the powder coat, the guy at the shop told me to clean them up real good with oven cleaner--- yep liquid oven cleaner. And after that he said to use this phosphate liquid stuff that you cut 1-to-3...
Disaster? Looks more like fun to me! Reminds me of younger days as a kid in Florida when our Anna Maria Island flooded by a surprise storm. Water was only a couple feet deep, mostly roads flooded, and all us kids couldn't go to school that day. Well, the best part was some local guy with a Deuce...
Let me first say that I know VERY little to NONE regarding paint & body work but have great desire to learn.
I too have this same problem w/surface rust on my M1008. Mostly the hood and surrounding area. In some spots it's deeper than others and so far as I've read, it looks to be a fair...
Yes I did look at the reviews but as one person pointed out, some folks may not be using it properly and they have problems. Seems split 50/50 whether this is good for intended use. Mainly I'm wanting to redo 2 drivelines for 3/4 and 1-ton light trucks, nothing heavy as of yet. Possibly...
Ball Joint Press - Great Deals on Ball Joint Presses at Harbor Freight
Saw this online and wondered if any shop guys here have used this--- OR--- maybe there's a better alternative. Like maybe a 12-ton press? What I need this for mainly, is u-joints but if this will do ball joint/king pins and...
Well, the govt didn't shut down, the weather finally warmed and another dirtbag is, well... in the bag! First time out for us--- first impressions: WHAT A GET TOGETHER!
Wife and I showed for Sat only, no campout, and thouroghly enjoyed the clean-up activities. So much going on all at once it...
If I were you I would FIRST get busy with the TM's on how to check/adjust the shift linkage. It's really simple. But left undone, this minor problem could burn-up trans clutches in short time... it's an age-old GM tranny problem easily fixed.:grd:
Yes, it is supposed to fit loosely. Just be sure you use the correct, stock spacer and ALSO make sure the plastic tube snaps firmly into the trans housing.
Ok, at the risk of offending delicate sensabilities, I have a actual SUGGESTION here for the wants/For-Sale:
Location, location, location! (I'm not yelling)
Don't know about anyone else, but when I have to open nearly every ad just to see WHERE the item is located, I'm not going to bother...
Just a quick note: last nite it was downright COLD & BREZZY! Right after sundown the temps dropped about 15 degrees and it felt like Old Man Winter was back with a vengence. So for those not yet on the road or just leaving out this afternoon, I highly reccomend bringing plenty of keep warm gear...
Welcome to the site! And I'll bet you'll become a fairly popular guy around here 'cause you've got that grease/wrenchin' experience--- good luck to ya'!
Reading with much interest... great info--- great thread! But aside from the setup/take-down aspect, could it be any more hard work than a commercial kitchen? I wonder because I once worked at a Hilton in Florida and was asigned the outside grill located poolside, just a thongs throw from the...
