WOW !
I agree.
I doubt the Expedition's front wheels would have been on the ground with TWO of those suckers dangling from the back if my 500-600 estimate were accurate. Handling mine one leg at a time solo was sure a task. Sorry if I overestimated.
I doubt I'll have any opportunity in the...
Not to hijack this thread, but a quick reply to your query....
. .
I have never assembled this HEAVY Tow Bar, but these are photos from the Midland (Texas) County Sheriff's Deputy - my point of contact. You can see both the size and how they "shackled" the tow bar o the APC.
Recent FedEx shipment of a Medium Tow Bar WITH its three Pins documents it at 134 LBS.
(Ships as 3 unwrapped but labeled parcels - first being just one OUTER Leg Tube with Lunette Ring; second being the other OUTER Leg Tube WITH the three Pins taped together and then slid inside with the open...
I suppose I wasn't clear in my first response.
I suggest that you bring this to bikeman's attention by posting your situation there. Either he or someone subscribed to the VIN INFO thread might be able to assist you in locating the VIN on your MV.
That thread has a long list of subscribed...

He is the OP and point of contact for the 2016 VIN INFO THREAD here on the SS Site.

They're some good shots of a young MV enthusiast.
You might consider adding them to the compilation in this thread:

My step-daughter responded to an online offer for a FREE canoe in need of some plastic-bottom repair. She wants to use it for her "indian" themed birthday party for our almost 2-year old granddaughter.
Well, just as the sun was setting I was "invited" to help go pick it up all the way across...
The Pin connecting the Legs of this Heavy Tow Bar at the Lunette Ring is 1-1/2", whereas the Feet Ends and the Shackles shown have 1-1/4" Pins.
The Sheriff's Crew used this Tow Bar (and another that they kept) only when winching their two APCs onto and off of the trailer they transported them...
I've looked at every thread referenced here about Tow Bars, and every other thread cross-referenced in those threads and have yet to see any photos of the HEAVY TOW BAR that I have.
So.... Here's a comparative photo showing the HEAVY Vs the MEDIUM Tow Bars.
As you can see, the HEAVY Tow Bar...
Some of my considerations....
The front bumper location, though convenient and a comfortable lifting height, exposes the tow bar to potential damage in a collision. It does, however, render a really hunky look to an already tough looking MV.
Under the frame or bed means it could be...
Thank you, Gentlemen, for the link and the photos/ideas.
I suppose that searching when it's way past bedtime is less effective in finding results than I should have expected.
I was undecided which Forum would be the best location for this thread, so since Tow Bars convert vehicles into "trailers" I settled on this one.
Here's the situation....
We presently own a Medium Tow Bar AND a HEAVY Tow Bar. We also own a Deuce - M35A2 and a 5-Ton Semi-Tractor - XM-818...
You raise a good point.
In fact, the FPU, separated from the trailing unit, can be operated independently. As I recall from other SS Forum discussions, the rear axle of the FPU can be "pinned" or de-coupled from its steering function for maneuvering around a motorpool. I also recall that...
