I know you were responding to another member but my statement in regards to the SF-97 pertained to BAE. BAE has no control over whether a state issues a title for a vehicle. If your state normally processes SF97s for military vehicles then it shouldn't matter if it's a M923 or a FMTV. BAE has...
I would guess that as long as GL is issuing SF97s for them you're fine. Enough have come out with members here having them that I would think that issue would have come up if GL wasn't sending SF97s. Still, I'll wait to here from folks that already have one.
Looks like it's pretty complete. All the MBUs, invertor, cables (at least some of them - is the cross-over cable there?), the separator in the ice chest, fuel cans. Have you tried firing up any of the MBUs yet? How do they look for hours?
Are you talking about a vinyl cover or a canvas cover? I've had my vinyl cover on my truck soaking up the Texas sunshine for about 4 years and haven't had any problems at all. Canvas, I believe as a whole, will deteriorate much quicker as the threads in the material themselves break down so...
Okay the San Antonio Mustang Club has their big year end show at Bass Pro Shop on Oct 26. My wife is friends with the president and talked him in to adding a Military Vehicle category. I expect you to be there. I'll even give up the 1st place trophy just to see your truck :)
I'd try calling Midwest Military (952) 440-8778 or Vintage Powerwagons 888-695-0578 https://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/ While they don't have anything new listed on the sites they might have a serviceable used one available.
PM TexAndy. He just bought a batch of HMMWV trannies and some appear to be fresh rebuilds. Probably a lot cheaper than your quote. He's located in Beeville.
I was planning on selling my deuce once I got the M923 but the wife said "NO!" so I've still got it. I am thinking of selling the 923 so I can buy a 1079 though.
Wrong. If you read you policy (yes the insurance company actually expects you to do that) you'll see under exclusions that you're not covered for "mechanical breakdown" which basically means "if you blow it up you're SOL."
The invertor is on the left side of the trailer in the cabinets. If it's somewhere that an ac outlet is available simple plug the pig tail hanging down from the GFI box on the front of the cabinet into an extension cord then turn it on. A little green light will come on the front of the...
Stripped trailers do come up occasionally but to give you an idea on the value differences lets look at 3 different trailers that sold this week. Trailer #1 was a MKT-85 that had all the burners, cables, pots/pans, Cambros, water cans, etc in Indiana and sold for $1840+fees. Trailer #2 was a...
For my first MKT I actually bought a second griddle. You get a whole lot more use out of two of them than the open burners. If you're doing a breakfast meal you can cook eggs and bacon on one and pancakes on the other or for lunch have about 50 burgers cooking at the same time.
Nicely loaded. Looks like you're missing one set of stairs but you have an extra griddle which is more than a fair trade. Was this one of the MS MKTs that just sold on GL or did you get it from a private party?
Keith_J came over today to help with the generator. A little extra bleeding at the hard line and it cranked pretty quickly. For some reason it took a couple of stop/starts for it to settle at 60hz and start producing power but seems fine now. With it sitting overnight with fuel in it we...
The "heater" is a vent on the floor just below the oven side cabinets. It uses the exhaust fan to suck heated air from the top of the trailer and sends it through the exhaust hose down to the floor vent. That way during cold temp operations you get warm air movement.
